Fish It: How to Unlock Hydra’s Throne Room on Elemental Island

The three crystals you need, the podium setup, and the player requirements for spawning the Elemental Hydra.

The three crystals you need, the podium setup, and the player requirements for spawning the Elemental Hydra.

Hydra’s Throne Room is the sealed chamber inside Elemental Island in Fish It, and it holds the Elemental Hydra along with 15 fish that appear nowhere else in the game. The gate in front of it does not open with a level requirement or a purchase. It opens when three specific crystals are seated on three specific podiums.

Quick answer: Bring the Fire Elemental Crystal, Ice Elemental Crystal, and Storm Elemental Crystal to the locked gate on Elemental Island and place each one on its matching podium. The gate opens and stays open permanently on your account.

What you need before the gate will open

All three crystals must be in hand at once. There is no partial unlock, and placing one or two crystals does nothing on its own beyond filling that podium.

The crystals tie into the Elemental Event objectives on the island, which track the Glacial, Magma, and Atmospheric Regulators and ask you to insert elemental items into each one. Keep that quest panel open while you work, since it is the clearest running record of which element you still owe.

How to unlock Hydra’s Throne Room

Travel to Elemental Island and walk to the locked gate. The three podiums sit near the entrance, each one marked with its element so there is no guesswork about which crystal belongs where.
Work through the Elemental Event objectives to collect the Fire, Ice, and Storm Elemental Crystals. The regulator tasks are spread across the island, so expect to move between the lava, ice, and storm areas rather than farming one spot.

Place each crystal on its matching podium. Fire on fire, ice on ice, storm on storm — a crystal will not register on the wrong pedestal.

With the third crystal seated, the gate opens and the throne room becomes reachable. That is your confirmation the unlock worked — you can walk straight through, and the gate no longer bars you on later visits or in fresh servers.

If the gate stays shut, the cause is almost always one of two things. Either a podium is still empty, or a crystal was carried in but never placed.

What is inside the throne room

Fifteen fish live exclusively in Hydra’s Throne Room, spanning Epic, Legendary, and Mythic rarities across all three elements. Molten Parrotfish and Cinderplate Coelacanth are among the catches here, and the Molten Parrotfish also turns up in Stone and Big variants at rates of roughly 1 in 110 and 1 in 550 respectively.

Above all of that sits the Elemental Hydra, a Forgotten fish and the reason the chamber exists. It is not something you stumble into while fishing alone.

Elemental Hydra spawn requirements and odds

The Hydra only activates with a minimum of three players, and they have to be split so that one player stands in each elemental zone — fire, ice, and storm. Leave a zone empty and the encounter will not trigger, no matter how long you fish.

ConditionValue
Minimum players3, one per elemental zone
Maximum players counted15
Most Hydra combinations1 in 40,000,000
1 Fire + 1 Ice + 1 Storm1 in 45,000,000 (rarest)

More players improve the odds up to the 15-player cap, but only if the three zones stay balanced. A group that stacks ten people into the fire zone is worse off than an evenly spread group of the same size.

Note: the bare three-player setup of one fire, one ice, and one storm is the rarest combination in the game at 1 in 45 million, which is longer odds than the standard 1 in 40 million. Filling out the group is the practical move.

Gear that changes your odds

Two rewards from the Elemental Spin matter directly here. Elemental Convergence is an ability that raises your chance of triggering a Critical Catch while fishing, and the Hydra Fishing Pet adds a Forgotten Luck Pool to your fishing spot while its centre head fishes alongside you.

Neither is required to enter the throne room or to spawn the Hydra. Both stack on top of a coordinated group, which is the part that actually gates the encounter.

Unlocking the chamber is the short part of this. Once the crystals are placed you have permanent access, and the real work shifts to finding a full server willing to hold three balanced zones long enough for those 40-million odds to land.
