How to Get Skystrike Gauntlets in Where Winds Meet (Version 2.1)

The new Bamboocut – Draught martial art unlocks from a single riverbank conversation in the Shenze area of Hidden Mountain.

The new Bamboocut – Draught martial art unlocks from a single riverbank conversation in the Shenze area of Hidden Mountain.

The Skystrike Gauntlets arrived with the September 3, 2026 content drop for Version 2.1 Clouded Revelation, and unlike most weapon unlocks in Where Winds Meet, it costs nothing. There is no sect to join, no reputation to farm, and no boss to beat. You walk to a riverbank, listen to an old man tell a story, and the martial art is yours.

Quick answer: Travel to the Shenze area of Hidden Mountain, near Millennium Crossing, find the NPC Jiu Quansu resting by the river with a group of children, talk to him, and select Listen to the Story. Let the dialogue finish and the Skystrike Gauntlets unlock automatically.

What the Skystrike Gauntlets martial art is

Skystrike Gauntlets is a Melee DPS martial art that sits on the Bamboocut – Draught path, the drunken fist school introduced alongside Riven Twinblades. Both weapons run on Binge Points and pick up stronger versions of their abilities while you are in the Inebriate state, so they are built to be played together rather than in isolation.

Unlock the Skystrike Gauntlets from Jiu Quansu in Shenze

Open the world map and switch to the Hidden Mountain region, then select the Shenze area. Millennium Crossing is the nearest major landmark, so use it to orient yourself before setting a marker on the riverbank.

Travel to the marker. The spot sits down at the water’s edge, so use your traversal abilities to climb and glide across the cliffs rather than trying to follow the road the whole way.

Find Jiu Quansu on the riverbank. He is sitting with a small group of children gathered around him, and he is the only interactable NPC in that cluster. Speak to him and choose the Listen to the Story option.
Stay put and let the story run. The scene plays out on its own while the objective sits at “Wait for developments,” and the martial art is granted at the end of it, not at the moment you pick the dialogue option.

The tale itself covers Jiu Quansu fighting his way out of an ambush, framed by references to Li Keyong, the Prince of Jin. It is short, and it is the whole unlock condition.

How to confirm the unlock and equip the martial art

You will get an on-screen acquisition prompt for the Skystrike Gauntlets as soon as the conversation ends. To verify it stuck, open the Martial Arts menu and look for the Skystrike Gauntlets entry. Before the unlock it appears greyed out and locked; afterwards the skill description is readable and the equip option is available.

Equip it from that same menu to swap the gauntlets into your loadout. From there you can practice the combo strings freely.

Why the unlock might not trigger

  • Your client is not updated. The Skystrike Gauntlets shipped with the September 3, 2026 addition to Version 2.1, so an older build will not show the martial art at all.
  • You picked a different dialogue branch. Only Listen to the Story starts the sequence.
  • You left before the scene finished. The martial art is awarded at the end of the story, so walking off mid-dialogue means you need to talk to Jiu Quansu again.

Skystrike Gauntlets vs Heavenwill Gauntlets

There are now two separate gauntlet martial arts, and they are not interchangeable. Heavenwill Gauntlets is the older one from Version 2.0, and it is bought rather than found.

Inner Ways and gear sets released alongside it

Four Inner Ways landed in the same update, two of them written specifically around the drunken fist pair.

Try the gauntlets in the New Armament Drill event

If you want a guided run at the moveset rather than a training dummy, the New Armament Drill event exists for exactly that. It is a tutorial built around the Skystrike Gauntlets, walking you through the drunken fist attacks and how the Bamboocut – Draught path chains together.

Once the martial art is in your loadout, the natural next step is pairing it with Riven Twinblades, since the two share Binge Points and both get stronger while you are Inebriated. Grab Eonpour and Skyspeak when you can, and the pair starts behaving like the single weapon system it was designed to be.
