The Blood of Dawnwalker Post-Credits Scene: What Happens and How to See It

The Blood of Dawnwalker keeps one last scene in reserve. After Coen’s story in Vale Sangora wraps up and the credits finish rolling, the game cuts to a short sequence labelled “PRESENT DAY” — a modern apartment, a courier, and a vampire who very much needs a drink.

Quick answer: Finish any ending, let the full credits play without skipping, and a roughly one-minute present-day scene begins on its own, ending on the game’s title card.

What happens in the post-credits cutscene

The scene opens on a dark hallway with the words “PRESENT DAY” on screen. A knock lands, a voice tells the visitor to come in, and a delivery driver in an orange vest and cap steps inside carrying a cardboard box. The vest carries a winged “Q” logo.

Inside the wrecked apartment, a trail of blood leads to a badly injured man slumped in an armchair. He asks for the package. The courier sets it down, and the box turns out to be full of blood bags.

The wounded man bares fangs and drinks. His deep chest wounds close almost instantly while the courier watches in shock. Outside, tendrils creep across the broken window frame and a cloaked figure hovers in the air. The now-healed vampire stands, speaks to the figure, and glowing red runes light up across his arm and chest. A red-and-gold circular talisman merges with a dagger to form the game’s logo, and the sequence ends.

Why the present-day setting matters

Everything in the main campaign takes place in the medieval valley of Vale Sangora, where Coen races a 30-day clock to save his family from the vampire lord Brencis. The stinger jumps that timeline forward entirely. Vampires are still around in the modern world, they order blood by courier, and at least one of them is being hunted by something that flies.

The scene names no characters and gives no dates. It establishes the world continuing into the present and a new confrontation beginning, then stops.

Small details to catch on a rewatch

  • The delivery vest carries a winged “Q” logo — the only branding shown in the scene.
  • The blood is shipped in medical-style bags, not taken from a person, and the courier appears to be an ordinary delivery driver.
  • Tendrils grow around the window frame before the cloaked figure appears, signalling the threat ahead of the reveal.
  • The red runes surface only once the vampire is fully healed and preparing to fight.

The fastest route to the credits

Two of the seven endings can be triggered shortly after the Prologue, and the game treats both as completing the story. The Coward’s Path route is the shortest.

Finish the Prologue through the quest Smoke and Ashes, which opens the full map and unlocks the Court Activities system.
Wait for night. You need Planeshift and Shadowstep, and those vampiric traversal abilities are only available after dark.
Travel to the Briar Sloughs area and head for the Coward’s Path Shrine. West of it, a broken bridge leads to an open gate.
Use Planeshift and Shadowstep to scale the canyon wall and cross the gap, then approach the gate. A dialogue cutscene triggers; choose the option to leave the valley forever.

Coen walks away from everyone, the A Hero They Deserve trophy unlocks alongside The Blood of Dawnwalker trophy, and the credits roll.

Note: this early exit does not count toward Duelist difficulty completion, which requires saving the people of Laslea. Only the four full-campaign endings do that.

All seven endings that lead to the credits

EndingHow it triggers
The Folk HeroDefeat Brencis alone; pick “Enough. Time to End this.” in A Deal with the Devil
The PatricideComplete Lacra’s questline and beat Brencis with her
The KnyazmakerComplete Crake’s questline and beat Brencis with the Manumit
The TurncoatTake Brencis’s deal and mark the Manumit Hideout for him
A Hero They DeserveLeave Vale Sangora through the Coward’s Path gate at night

Time Runs OutLet the 30 in-game days lapse; Coen’s family is sacrificed

You can see every ending in one playthrough by keeping a manual save before the final quest and reloading after each conclusion.

How to make sure you don’t miss it

The single most common reason players never see the scene is skipping the credits. Set the controller down and let them finish. When the crawl ends, the screen holds on a dark corridor and the “PRESENT DAY” caption appears — that is the confirmation you are in the right place. From there it runs for about a minute and closes on the title logo, and control returns to the menu afterwards.

If you already blew past the credits, reloading your pre-ending manual save and re-triggering the same conclusion gets you back there without replaying the campaign.
