Ambrus’s Transports: Bloody Business is one of the two blood transport Court Activities in Ambrus’s territory in The Blood of Dawnwalker. It is a short roadside ambush with no puzzle, no dialogue tree, and no branching choice. You find a patrol hauling a barrel of drained blood, kill it, and read the note the captain is carrying.
Quick answer: Find the patrol on the road east of Maragir Road, kill all four enemies, then use Focus Mode to spot the captain’s body glowing yellow and loot the Letter of Reprimand from it. Reading the letter ends the quest and spends 3 time segments.
Bloody Business location: East of Maragir Road
The patrol roves the wooded eastern edge of Ambrus’s domain, on the stretch of road running between Maragir Wealds in the north and Maragir village in the south. It is not a static camp. The group walks a short circuit, so the quest marker only appears once you are close enough, and you may need to travel the road in both directions before it pops.
Climbing a nearby tower tags the transport on your map with a white question mark. That question mark turns into a yellow exclamation mark when you approach and the activity officially registers. The quest objective reads Intercept the transport.

Ambrus’s region is the low-level part of the map, so this activity is doable from the moment the open world unlocks after the Prologue. No earlier quest has to be finished first.

Add to Google Preferences →The fight: Three guards and one Uriash
The escort is four enemies. Three are human soldiers, and the fourth is a Uriash carrying the blood barrel on its back, which is why the group has no wagon. The Uriash is the only real threat here, and the humans will surround you quickly if you commit to long attack strings.

Loot the captain for the Letter of Reprimand
Killing the patrol does not end the activity on its own. The quest item sits on one specific human body, and Focus Mode is the fastest way to identify it.

The same body carries the rest of the useful pickups, including Plain Armour of Ambrus’s Soldier, a Missive from Ambrus, Plum, and Denarius. Sweeping the other corpses and the surrounding area can turn up extras such as a Sacred Egg, an Amulet of Regeneration, and a Vial of Human Blood.
Rewards, time cost, and how to confirm it worked
Once the letter is read, a short transition plays and the clock jumps forward, usually landing you at Moonrise. A QUEST ENDED banner appears, followed by an INFAMY INCREASED notification. If you see both of those, the activity is registered and you do not need to return to the road.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Objective | Intercept the transport |
| Location | Road east of Maragir Road, eastern edge of Ambrus’s domain |
| Enemies | 3 human guards, 1 Uriash |
| Quest item | Letter of Reprimand (from Bardil, addressed to Makar) |
| Time cost | 3 time segments |
| Reward | 250 XP, infamy increase, no Skill Point |
Note: this is the only Ambrus Court Activity that hands out no Skill Point, which makes its 3 time segment cost the worst value of the set. Since the campaign runs on a hard 30 in-game day limit, that trade matters if you are pushing to raise all three boyars’ anger levels before time runs out.
Why the quest may not trigger or complete
- The marker has not appeared yet. The patrol moves along its stretch of road, so drive up and down the route until the yellow exclamation icon shows up.
- You killed the group but skipped the loot. The activity only closes after the Letter of Reprimand is taken and read.
- You looted the wrong corpse. Only the body glowing yellow in Focus Mode carries the letter.
Bloody Business is one of ten Vrakhiri Transports scattered across the valley, and wrecking any eight of them unlocks the Delivery Delay trophy and achievement. If you are chasing that, this one is a cheap tick in the low-level region. If you are purely racing the clock toward Ambrus, the other activities in his territory pay out better for the same three segments.
