Where Winds Meet: How to Unlock the Skystrike Gauntlets (Bamboocut

The Skystrike Gauntlets are a Melee DPS martial art tied to the Bamboocut – Draught path in Where Winds Meet, and they are not sold, crafted, or pulled from a chest. You earn them from a single drunken swordsman sitting by the water in Hidden Mountain, and the whole thing takes about five minutes once you know where he stands.

Quick answer: Travel to Millennium Crossing in Hidden Mountain, find Jiu Qiansui near the waterfall, challenge him to a duel and win, then speak to him again on the shore and pick “Listen to the Story” to unlock the Skystrike Gauntlets and the Eonpour Inner Way.

Jiu Qiansui location in Hidden Mountain

Jiu Qiansui sits on the southern side of the Hidden Mountain region, in the Millennium Crossing area just east of the Gasping Cliff Boundary Stone. Fast travel to that stone and you are within a short glide of him. He is usually standing in the shallow water beneath the waterfall, with a group of children gathered nearby on the bank.

You will know you are in the right spot when the area name card for Millennium Crossing appears on screen. There is no prerequisite quest chain and no item to bring along, so you can walk straight up to him the moment you reach the zone.

Beat Jiu Qiansui in the duel

Talk to Jiu Qiansui and pick the Challenge option. He opens with a line about your drinking tolerance before testing your technique, and the fight starts immediately after the dialogue closes.

Fight defensively. His moveset is telegraphed and slow enough to read, so the reliable approach is to parry his swings and punish the opening that follows rather than trading blows.

Drop his health bar to finish the duel. He congratulates you on the fight, and the “A Drink Well Earned” achievement pops on screen. That achievement is your confirmation that the combat half is done.

The step that actually grants the martial art

Winning the duel does not hand you the weapon. Jiu Qiansui moves to the shore a few metres away and settles in with the children, and you have to go back to him a second time. Speak to him there and choose Listen to the Story.

He talks about a jar of wine, a duel, a word, and a friend, then muses that the kids will understand his stories when they are older. Sit through the full conversation without escaping out of it. When the dialogue ends, the Skystrike Gauntlets and the Eonpour Inner Way are both awarded, with Eonpour arriving at Comprehension +100%.

Note: skipping out of the story scene with the Escape option is the most common reason players walk away with the achievement but no gauntlets. If that happens, just talk to him again and replay the conversation.

How to check the unlock worked

Open the Martial Arts menu and look for the Skystrike Gauntlets entry. If the unlock registered, the Obtain button is available and the weapon is listed as Melee DPS under the Bamboocut – Draught path. The Eonpour Inner Way should also appear in your Inner Way list.

Skystrike Gauntlets release date and version

The Skystrike Gauntlets arrived on September 3 as part of the Clouded Revelation 2.1.3 update, alongside the Hidden Mountain content that houses Jiu Qiansui. If the martial art is not showing up in your menu at all, confirm the client has pulled that version before hunting for him.

Once the gauntlets are yours, they slot into the Bamboocut – Draught path, which runs on Binge Points shared with the Riven Twinblades. Eonpour is the signature Inner Way for that path, so picking it up in the same conversation means you finish the trip with both halves of the setup rather than having to go looking for the second one later.
