Blox Fruits Update 30: How to Unlock the Fountain City Secret

The night-only pipe puzzle at the top fountain, the ship launch that follows, and the sewer entrance beside it.

The night-only pipe puzzle at the top fountain, the ship launch that follows, and the sewer entrance beside it.

Fountain City is the last island in the First Sea, and Update 30 buried a set of hidden objectives in it that only work under specific conditions. The headline one is a pipe puzzle at the very top of the giant fountain, and it will simply refuse to start if you show up at the wrong time of day.

Quick answer: Wait for night, speak to the Freezeburg Quest Giver in Fountain City, climb to the ship stuck in the top fountain, hit the broken pipe segments until they rotate into a connected line that stops leaking, ride the freed ship down into the ocean, then return to the same NPC to claim the reward.

What you need before starting the Fountain City secret

There is no item requirement here, but there are three hard conditions. Miss any of them and the objective either won’t appear or can’t be finished.

RequirementDetail
Time of dayNight only. The quest cannot be completed during the day cycle.
Island accessFountain City, the final First Sea island, with enemies in the 625–700 range.
Quest giverThe Freezeburg Quest Giver, the same NPC who hands out the Galley Pirate, Galley Captain, and Cyborg quests.
LoadoutAny weapon, fighting style, or fruit move that can hit an object, plus something for vertical movement.

Note: the fountain is tall enough to be visible from anywhere in the First Sea, and you need to reach its upper basin. A flight or air-mobility option makes the climb trivial. Anything else means a slow platforming run up the structure.

Repair the pipes and launch the stuck ship

At night, walk up to the Freezeburg Quest Giver and open the dialogue. He talks about wires sparking across the ground and odd noises coming from the sewers, which is the cue that the island’s hidden objectives are live.

Head straight up the central fountain tower until you reach the top basin. A wooden ship is perched on the side of the structure there, wedged in place, and the broken pipework sits right alongside it.

A flight-capable fighting style, like Dragon in the second hotbar slot here, turns the climb into a few seconds of travel.
Attack the damaged pipe segments. Each hit rotates a segment, and the goal is to line them all up so the water runs through cleanly instead of spraying out of the joints. Keep swinging until nothing is leaking.

Any weapon works on the pipes; the Cursed Dual Katana in slot three does the job quickly.
With the plumbing fixed, board the ship and take the helm. It comes loose, slides down the side of the tower, and drops into the ocean below.
Player moving along the freed ship's hull beside the fountain wall
The ship breaks free once the water flows properly and slides off the fountain structure.
Return to the Freezeburg Quest Giver and talk to him again. He responds with a line about good work and something for your trouble, and the experience reward lands immediately.

You’ll know it registered when the level counter ticks up right after the dialogue closes and the objective clears from the island. The payout is large enough to move several levels at once at high level.

Open the Fountain City sewer entrance

The NPC’s line about noises under the city points at the island’s other night-locked secret. Find the doorway with a small crane next to it, stand on the crane’s plank, and pick the Lift Crane option. That raises the cover and exposes the sewer entrance.

Inside is a straightforward combat pocket rather than a puzzle. Clear the mobs waiting for you, then deal with the mini-boss at the end to close it out.

What the Fountain City secret rewards

Each completed secret pays out experience through the island’s quest giver, and that experience pushes past the old ceiling. Update 30 raises progression to Level 3000 specifically through these objectives, which is why they are worth doing even on a maxed character.

Every secret also awards one star. There are 40 across the 16 islands of Sea 1, and collecting all of them unlocks the teleporter in Middle Town. Finishing all three on a single island makes that island available as a teleport destination, so Fountain City becomes a one-click trip once its set is done.

Why the Fountain City secret won’t trigger

  • It’s daytime. The quest is night-gated, and the NPC will not offer the rumor dialogue outside of it.
  • The pipes look repaired but water is still escaping from a joint. Keep hitting the segments until the flow is completely clean.
  • The ship dropped but you never returned to the Freezeburg Quest Giver. The reward only pays out on turn-in.

Update 30’s Sea 1 rework is still settling, and a few Island Secrets on other islands have been behaving inconsistently since launch. The Fountain City set is one of the more reliable ones, provided you respect the night requirement — worth clearing while you’re farming Galley Pirates and the Cyborg on the way to the Second Sea in Blox Fruits.
