Halloween: The Game — How to Unlock Every Character and Skin

The exact level milestones, story challenges, and Prestige conditions that unlock each playable Civilian, Michael Myers skin, and outfit.

The exact level milestones, story challenges, and Prestige conditions that unlock each playable Civilian, Michael Myers skin, and outfit.

Every unlock in Halloween: The Game is tied to one of a few clear systems: your account level, story mode challenges, character-specific challenge collections, and Prestige ranks. Michael Myers and four Civilians start unlocked, and the rest of the roster fills in as you level up. Cosmetics follow the same logic, with a small set of items reserved for the Digital Deluxe Edition and pre-orders.

Quick answer: Reach Profile (account) Levels 5, 10, 25, 40, and 55 to unlock Jennifer Aarons, Thomas Armitage, Lynda Van Der Klok, Bob Simms, and Annie Bracket in that order. Skins and outfits come from completing story Chapter Challenges, finishing Progressive Challenge Collections, and hitting Prestige Levels, while Laurie Strode, Richard Hawthorne, Alexis Purcell, and several exclusive skins require the Digital Deluxe Edition or a pre-order.

Playable characters and how to unlock them

Michael Myers and the five core Civilians are available from the start. The next five Civilians unlock purely by raising your Profile Level, which pools all experience regardless of the role you play. Three more characters are edition-locked and cannot be earned through matches.

All Michael Myers skins

Michael’s Killer skins come from a mix of story completion, Prestige ranks, and challenge collections. The 1978 look is his default, while the Phantom and Inmate skins are tied to how you bought the game.

All Civilian outfits

Each Civilian starts with one default outfit. The second outfit almost always comes from that character’s own Progressive Challenge Collection, and the third is earned by completing a specific single-player Chapter Challenge that ends with Michael executing them a particular way.

How the remaining cosmetics unlock

Beyond outfits, each Civilian has extra hair, eyewear, and makeup or blemish options. These are gated behind four repeating systems, so once you know the pattern you can plan which items to chase.

Unlock methodWhat it gates
Profile Level milestonesSpecific eyewear and makeup pieces at set account levels (for example, Eric’s Glasses 1 at Profile Level 4 and Rachel’s Makeup 1 at Profile Level 18)
Character Progressive Challenge CollectionsOutfits, hair, and cosmetics tied to each named Civilian’s challenge list
Passive Challenge CollectionsCosmetics earned by clearing tiers in shared category books such as ‘Survival’, ‘Resourcefulness’, and ‘Mastery Challenge’
Character Prestige LevelsLate items, with most characters unlocking a Glasses piece at Prestige Level 5 and a makeup or blemish piece at Prestige Level 4

Progression splits into four tracks that feed these unlocks: Profile Level (all XP combined), Killer Level (playing as Michael), Civilian Level (per individual Civilian), and Weapon Level (kills with specific weapons as Michael). Raising any of these opens new challenge tiers, characters, abilities, and cosmetic rewards, and reaching the cap on any track lets you Prestige for the higher-tier items.

Edition-locked items and how to confirm an unlock

A specific set of content cannot be grinded out in matches. The Phantom Michael Myers skin comes with any pre-order, and the Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Inmate Michael Myers skin, Laurie’s Final Girl Outfit, and the Laurie Strode, Richard Hawthorne, and Alexis Purcell characters. The Digital Deluxe Edition also grants early access ahead of the standard launch.

To confirm any unlock, open the Customize menu for the relevant character or for Michael. Once you meet a condition, the outfit, skin, hair, eyewear, or makeup entry becomes selectable instead of showing its locked requirement. If an item still reads as locked, check whether it is an edition-exclusive piece, since those never appear as earnable no matter how far you level or how many challenges you clear.
