Partway through the Buried Past side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker, Coen has to work out where his father’s Secret Glade was hidden, and the journal only gives you a vague nudge about the village of Parlita and buns bought for the road. The objective marks a search area rather than a single pin, which is why plenty of players circle the village without ever tripping the memory.
Quick answer: Walk into Parlita through the main wooden gate and Inspect the yellow-highlighted wooden stand on the right-hand side of the path. Coen recognizes it as the stand where his father bought bread, and the objective flips to “Retrace your steps from childhood memories • 1 / 3”.
Parlita location on the Vale Sangora map
Parlita is a farming village, so the surrounding fields are the giveaway that you are close. On the map it sits directly south of Parlita Woods and west of Boar’s Back, with a blacksmith icon inside the settlement itself. There is no gate check or entry requirement here, unlike the Military Camp.

Inspect.Coen’s dialogue is the confirmation you want. He first mutters that Parlita felt like the end of the world when he was a kid, then lands on the stand where his father would buy bread for the road, and finally remembers refilling waterskins at the well.

A QUEST UPDATED banner appears for Buried Past the moment the dialogue finishes, and the tracked objective changes from “Look around Parlita for something to jog your memory” to “Retrace your steps from childhood memories” with a 1 / 3 counter attached. If your tracker still shows the old search-area text, the stand was not inspected and the memory has not fired.

Only two things realistically stop this from triggering. Either you are searching outside the village boundary, since the objective covers an area and not a marker, or you are walking past the stand without interacting with it because the highlight is easy to miss among the other market clutter. Both day and night versions of Buried Past accept this step, so time of day is not the blocker.
What the 1 / 3 memory counter leads to
The stand is the first of three memories Coen has to piece together. From there the trail moves on to the large rocks he and his father called “Giants’s pawns”, which you follow to work out the route, and eventually to the Secret Glade itself, where Pieter may or may not have buried his half of the treasure. Going to the Secret Glade costs two time units, so factor that into your run before you commit.
Note: Buried Past has a failure ending. If you head off to face Brencis before wrapping it up, the quest closes out with Coen deciding he does not have time for it, so the 30-day story clock can take the reward away from you.

If you are already in Parlita for other reasons, it is worth clearing this objective while you are standing there. The village also serves as the wrap-up point for The Beast of Balaur, where you report the body from the mountain cave to Ciprian in the house on the north side, so one trip can close out two threads at once.
