The Blood of Dawnwalker: Pearly and Precious Full Quest Walkthrough

Track the drag marks south of Small Bridge Shrine, clear the bandit camp, and unlock the Sanzhana teeth vendor.

Track the drag marks south of Small Bridge Shrine, clear the bandit camp, and unlock the Sanzhana teeth vendor.

Pearly and Precious is a short Sanzhani side quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker that costs a single time segment and ends with a new vendor. It starts at a wrecked camp with no survivors, and the whole thing is a tracking exercise from there — drag marks, then footprints, then a fight. The payoff is a Sanzhana who buys teeth off you and sells one item you will want later.

Quick answer: Go directly south of Small Bridge Shrine to the abandoned camp, use Focus Mode to follow the drag marks south to a Sanzhana in a mushroom ring, then follow the footprints south-southwest, kill the bandits, and return to the Sanzhana to open her as a vendor.

Pearly and Precious requirements, cost, and rewards

The quest will not appear until you have finished Good Home, the first Sanzhani quest, where you meet the Sanzhani Tsarina and trade three Shiny Teeth for Heile’s freedom. After that, the order in which the remaining Sanzhani quests surface is tied to the letters you send to Lunka from Tsarina’s burrow, so Pearly and Precious may show up earlier or later than it does in someone else’s run.

DetailValue
Starting locationAbandoned camp directly south of Small Bridge Shrine
Quest giverSanzhana (found on the trail, not at the camp)
PrerequisiteGood Home
Time cost1 time segment
Fail stateNone

Note: the game shows the time cost before you commit. Nothing in the quest is on a timer once it is running, and there is no way to fail it outside of walking away permanently to fight Brencis.

Where the abandoned camp is on the map

Fast travel to Small Bridge Shrine, which sits southeast of the Military Camp, and cross the bridge heading south. The ruined camp is right beside the river, marked by a question mark before you reach it, with a cart, scattered bedding, and a dead campfire. Approaching the camp is what starts the quest — there is no NPC to talk to first.

You will be leaning on Focus Mode for almost every objective here, so check your inputs before you start. On a controller it is LT or L2. On PC with default bindings, press Y to sheathe your weapon first, then hold the right mouse button.

Full walkthrough: camp, mushroom ring, and bandit camp

Enter the camp and hold Focus Mode. Inspect the highlighted objects — the cart, the bedding, and the campfire — until the journal switches to the drag marks objective. Torn Clothes and Apocynum are lying around here as ordinary pickups.
Still in Focus Mode, look for the yellow drag trail leaving the southern edge of the camp into the trees. Identify where it exits before you start moving; it drops into a ravine and is easy to lose if you sprint past it.
Follow the trail until you reach a ring of red mushrooms with two bodies in it. A Sanzhana is waiting there, and talking to her triggers a cutscene. She admits she has an arrangement with a group of bandits nearby who supply her with teeth from the corpses they dump in the ditch.
After the conversation ends, use Focus Mode again on the ground around the mushroom ring. A fresh set of footprints appears, heading south to southwest.

Trail the footprints deeper into the forest, re-triggering Focus Mode whenever the marks fade out. The route runs through open woodland and ends at the bandits’ camp.

Approach the camp and take the “Talk with Bandit” prompt. The conversation confirms what the Sanzhana told you and then turns hostile.

Kill the whole group. It is a standard multi-enemy human fight with nothing scripted, so ranged openers and night-form claws both work fine.

Loot the bodies and the camp, then head back to the Sanzhana at her burrow and tell her the bandits are dealt with. She is untroubled by their deaths and asks you to bring her teeth instead, which is what opens her trade screen.

What the Sanzhana vendor buys and sells

The Sanzhana buys the unique teeth item, which drops from humans and undead enemies — zombies are the most reliable source. That side of the trade is optional; you do not need to farm anything to finish the quest or open the shop.

What matters is her stock. She sells Silk Threads for 6,500 coins, a component required for the Arbiter Armour set. If you cannot afford it on the spot, she does not disappear — she relocates to Yawning Burrow with the other Sanzhani, where you can buy and sell from her later.

How to confirm the quest is complete

Pearly and Precious is finished once the return conversation ends, the journal marks the quest complete, and the trade screen opens on the Sanzhana. The journal outcome should read that you dealt with the bandits who traded with her and that she will now buy teeth from you.

If the fight is over but trading is unavailable, the return objective is almost certainly still active — go back and finish the dialogue. If a trail vanishes mid-quest, go back to the last confirmed point: the camp for lost drag marks, the mushroom ring for lost footprints. Steps you have already cleared do not need repeating, so let whatever objective is currently showing in the journal decide where you go next.

Finishing this one also moves you a step closer to the bigger Sanzhani payoff. Every completed Sanzhani task lets Tsarina pass you another letter from Lunka in Greifberg Castle, and helping all five of them earns The Tsarina’s Favourite Human trophy — plus Tsarina pushing Brencis’ coronation back by a full day, the one known way to buy yourself extra time on the 30-day clock.
