Find The Backrooms Morphs: How to Unlock the Door Monster Skin

The exact route from the lobby to the filing cabinet pickup that grants the one-eyed door monster morph.

The exact route from the lobby to the filing cabinet pickup that grants the one-eyed door monster morph.

The one-eyed door monster is one of the hidden morphs tucked behind the yellow maze in Find The Backrooms Morphs, and it is not something you stumble into by wandering. The path runs through a lever puzzle, a hazard corridor, and a staircase into a grey section of the map that most players never open. The route itself is short once you know the turns.

Quick answer: From the lobby, enter the yellow maze, pass the “TURTLE” wall drawing, pull the “Activate” lever to cage the giant Floppa head, run the corridor past the rising black hands to the grey door, climb the wooden stairs, and press Collect on the yellow item resting on the filing cabinet at the end of the hallway.

The full route to the door monster morph

Spawn into the green lobby and walk straight into the entrance of the yellow Backrooms maze. Ignore the free morph stand near the start. Nothing in the lobby is required for this unlock.
Follow the corridor until you pass the “TURTLE” drawing scrawled on the wall. That drawing is your confirmation you are on the correct branch of the maze. Keep moving in the same direction rather than doubling back.
Continue ahead until the giant Floppa head blocks the passage. Do not try to squeeze past it. The corridor stays sealed until the trap above it is triggered.

The giant Floppa head sits directly under the ceiling cage that the lever drops.
Find the lever near the blockage and press the “Activate” prompt. The cage drops onto the Floppa head and the corridor opens. Wait for the animation to finish before you push forward.
Sprint down the corridor past the safe and the black hands that rise from the floor. Keep to a steady line and do not stop between hazards. Your target is the grey door at the end of this stretch.

Go through the grey door and climb the wooden stairs on the other side. The stairs lead into a plain grey hallway that looks nothing like the yellow maze. That change in décor means you have left the main map section.
Walk the hallway to the door at the far end and step inside. A filing cabinet sits in this room with a small yellow item on top of it. Approach it and press the “Collect” prompt to take the pickup.

How to confirm the skin unlocked

Collecting the item triggers a “SKIN UNLOCKED” message on screen. That banner is the only confirmation you need, and it appears immediately after the Collect prompt is used, not on a delay. The reward is the one-eyed door monster morph.

If the message never appears, the usual cause is walking into the room without ever pressing Collect, since standing near the filing cabinet does nothing on its own. Backtracking through the maze before pulling the lever also leaves the corridor sealed, which means the grey door is never reachable in the first place.

The whole run takes well under a minute once the lever step is memorized, so the main cost is the first attempt spent learning where the “TURTLE” drawing sits relative to the Floppa blockage. Badges in the game track individual morph finds, with the rarer ones like XRAY Blue sitting around a 7.1 percent unlock rate, which gives a rough sense of how many players actually push past the opening stretch of the maze.
