Patch 7.56 brings five new mounts and a fresh hairstyle to Final Fantasy 14, with most of them tied to the new Beastmaster limited job, a new PvP season, and the Moogle Tomestone event. New minions ship in the same update, though their individual unlock steps aren’t confirmed yet. The good news is that several of these reward everyday play, so you’ll earn them just by leveling Beastmaster or queuing for PvP.
Quick answer: Rocket Punch is the fastest unlock, earned by reaching Rank 25 in PvP Series 12 regardless of wins. Three of the remaining unlocks (Hydra, Loosened Locks, and Tourmaline Golem) run through the Beastmaster job and its Crucible of the Unbroken duty.

| Rocket Punch | PvP mount | Reach Rank 25 in PvP Series 12 |
| Uolon | Event mount | Trade 100 Tomestones and 10 Uolon Horn Tokens |
| Loosened Locks | Hairstyle | Spend 500 Faded Remnants of Resilience at the Kornago Merchant |
Set up Beastmaster and the Crucible of the Unbroken first
Three of this patch’s rewards flow through the Beastmaster limited job and its dedicated duty, so unlock both before chasing them. Beastmaster wields an axe and a shield and can befriend up to 50 beasts, keeping three on rotation at a time.

Clearing boards earns Faded and Bright Remnants of Resilience, which you spend at the Kornago Merchant in Central Shroud (X: 21.9, Y: 22.6). Rewards scale with your score, calculated from spaces traversed, remaining HP, and bonus objectives, so higher runs pay out more currency. Once you clear every board, a harder Crucible Mode unlocks with three escalating difficulty degrees. The third degree is the one that counts toward competitive rankings.

Hydra mount
Hydra is a progression reward rather than a random drop. Complete the “A Beast in the Hand V” achievement, which requires taming all 50 Beastmaster pets currently available in Patch 7.56 using the Gauge and Capture actions. Once the achievement pops, buy the mount from the Kornago Merchant in Central Shroud.
Loosened Locks hairstyle
Loosened Locks is the winning entry from the 2023 FFXIV Hairstyle Design Contest, created by “Frappe,” and it mirrors the Beastmaster NPC’s look. Unlock it by spending 500 Faded Remnants of Resilience at the Kornago Merchant. Since Crucible rewards scale with performance, higher-scoring runs get you to 500 Remnants sooner than casual clears.

Tourmaline Golem mount
This is the most demanding unlock in the patch. You need to place in the top 300 players on your data center in Season 1 of Crucible Rankings, which grants the Crucible Contender achievement and the Tourmaline Golem mount.
Season 1 begins September 24, 2026 and runs until Patch 7.58 releases. A preseason period follows that temporarily locks out ranking participation, so leaderboard chasers should prioritize this early rather than leaving it to the end.
Cu Sith mount
Cu Sith is confirmed in the game files, but its unlock method hasn’t been pinned down. Given the pattern set by Hydra and Tourmaline Golem, it is expected to tie into further Beastmaster progression. Its exact requirement is not confirmed yet.

Rocket Punch mount
Rocket Punch comes from reaching Rank 25 in PvP Series 12. There’s no skill barrier here, since matches count toward your rank whether you win or lose, so steady queuing gets you there. Series 12 runs until the Evercold expansion launches, so there’s plenty of time to grind it out.
Uolon mount
Uolon is tied to the Moogle Tomestone event and costs 100 Tomestones plus 10 Uolon Horn Tokens. You earn Tokens by completing the Ultimog Challenge, which grants 5 per clear, and through the event’s Weekly Objectives. This event carries over into the next patch, so there’s no rush to farm everything at once.

New minions in Patch 7.56
New minions are confirmed to ship alongside the mounts in this patch, but their individual unlock requirements haven’t surfaced. Past patches have tied minions to quest completion, event participation, or vendor purchases with in-game currency, and the same mix is expected here. Exact steps are not confirmed yet.
Between the Beastmaster rewards and the ongoing PvP and event tracks, most of this patch’s collectibles land in your hands through play you’re already doing. Rocket Punch is the easy pickup, Hydra and Loosened Locks reward Crucible time, and Tourmaline Golem is the one to plan around once Crucible Rankings Season 1 opens on September 24.
