Fortnite Weezy Icon Cup: How to Unlock the Lil Wayne Skin for Free

Placement thresholds, eligibility checks, scoring, and the 8-point consolation reward for the September 12 cup.

Placement thresholds, eligibility checks, scoring, and the 8-point consolation reward for the September 12 cup.

The Weezy Icon Cup is the only way to get Lil Wayne’s Icon Series outfit without paying for it, and it runs for a single three-hour window on Saturday, September 12, hours before the bundle reaches the Item Shop. Two separate solo tournaments are on the schedule — one Battle Royale, one Zero Build — and both hand out the same reward to players who finish high enough in their region.

Quick answer: Pass the in-game Eligibility Check, queue into either Weezy Icon Cup solo tournament on September 12, and finish inside your region’s reward bracket (Top 1,000 in Europe, Top 700 in NA Central and NA West) across your 10 matches.

Eligibility Check requirements for the Weezy Icon Cup

Competitive playlists run an Eligibility Check before they let you queue, and every line item has to show green. Sort this out well before the session starts, because the BIOS-level requirements need a restart and there is no way to fix them mid-tournament.

RequirementWhat it means
Enable MFAMulti-Factor Authentication must be active on your Epic account.
Reach account level 50Season account level must be 50 or higher.
Age RestrictionYou must be 13 or older.
Rank is ValidYou need a valid competitive rank.
Account LockOnly one account per player can compete.
Enable TPMTrusted Platform Module switched on in BIOS/UEFI.
Enable Secure BootSecure Boot switched on in BIOS/UEFI.
Enable IOMMUInput-Output Memory Management Unit switched on in BIOS/UEFI.

If the queue button stays locked, the cause is almost always one of these boxes. The three hardware settings apply to PC, and turning any of them on requires a reboot into BIOS/UEFI, so leave yourself time.

Weezy Icon Cup schedule and match limit

Both cups appear on the Compete tab under Saturday, September 12. Open the calendar, select that date, and the two event cards show up side by side.

The two cups are separate tournaments with separate leaderboards, so a weak run in one does not carry over to the other. Pick the mode you actually play well rather than splitting your attention across both.

Placement thresholds needed to unlock the Weezy outfit

The skin bundle goes to players who land in their region’s top bracket by the end of the session. That cutoff is not the same everywhere — it scales with region size.

RegionReward bracket
EuropeTop 1,000
NA CentralTop 700
NA WestTop 700

Other regions use their own cutoff, which is listed on the tournament’s Details screen in-game. Check it before your first drop so you know the number you are chasing.

Weezy Icon Cup scoring: placement and elimination points

Points come from two places, and placement is worth far more than fragging. A Victory Royale is 60 points on its own, while second place gives 53 — meaning a single win is worth roughly what 30 eliminations would earn you.

Tip: with only 10 matches available, surviving deep is the efficient play. Dropping hot and dying early burns one of your limited attempts for almost nothing.

The 8-point YM Emote consolation reward

Missing the placement bracket does not mean walking away with nothing. Every player who scores at least 8 points across the session earns the YM Emote, a nod to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label. That threshold is low enough to clear with four eliminations, so play at least a couple of matches even if the leaderboard is out of reach.

Rewards are tied to your final score and placement once the session closes, so keep an eye on the in-game leaderboard during the window to see where you stand.

Item Shop release if you miss the placement cut

The Lil Wayne bundle lands in the Item Shop the same day as the cup, at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET on September 12. For players in the UK that is 1:00 AM on September 13, and 2:00 AM in Central Europe.

The collaboration covers two outfits — a shirtless look with glowing red effects, and a black suit with gold graffiti and a “Millionaire” tie — plus two Back Blings, a Pickaxe, the Young Money Stage Glider, two Emotes, an Emoticon, the YM Burner Wrap, Tha Guitar, and the Weezy’s Pose loading screen. Both outfits carry selectable styles, including glasses and hat toggles and reactive options. Three Jam Tracks round out the set with “6 Foot 7 Foot (feat. Cory Gunz),” “Lolli Pop (feat. Static Major),” and “A Milli (2023 Remix).” Epic has not confirmed a V-Bucks price for the bundle.

The practical takeaway is that the free route is narrow and time-boxed. Clear the Eligibility Check today, decide between Battle Royale and Zero Build before the session opens, and treat placement — not kills — as the thing that decides whether the outfit shows up in your locker.
