The closing scene of Story Pack 2 in Borderlands 4 runs about three minutes and resolves the one question the whole expansion is built around: whether FL4K’s skag, Mr. Chew, survives Tediore’s occupation of Providence. Full spoilers for the ending follow.
Quick answer: Chew is alive. After Lieutenant Harmony is beaten, FL4K finds Chew motionless, Chew wakes up unharmed, and then chooses to stay on Providence with a pack of local creatures instead of leaving with FL4K, who lets him go.
How the Lieutenant Harmony fight ends
Harmony is the last obstacle in FL4K and the Last Resort, sitting at the top of Tediore’s chain of command on the island after the five elite managers. She gets the usual stylized boss splash card, hers reading “LIEUTENANT HARMONY — YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN!”, and she does not die at the end of the fight. Once her health is gone she concedes with a flat “Hmph! Nice work, you got me,” fires off a shot, and teleports out.
Control passes straight into the cutscene from there. There is no second phase, no post-fight arena cleanup, and no choice prompt.

FL4K walks in with your Vault Hunter — Rafa in the footage below — and starts the sentence “I’m back. Where’s—” before spotting Chew lying still on the floor. The scene holds on that for a beat, with FL4K saying only the skag’s name.

Roughly a minute in, Chew gets up and nuzzles FL4K, and the fake-out is over. Shortly after, a group of Providence’s native wildlife — a spiderant, a ratch and several others — wanders in and gathers around him. FL4K’s reaction is two words: “New friends. Interesting.”

Why Chew stays behind on Providence
FL4K tries to leave with him and gets nowhere. The pitch is that Chew’s “brothers and sisters will be glad to have you back,” but Chew plants himself and will not follow, which Rafa spells out plainly. FL4K’s answer is the emotional core of the pack: the beastmaster admits to assuming Chew would be helpless alone, then concedes it may have been the other way around.

At around the two-minute mark FL4K kneels, embraces Chew, says goodbye, and watches him leave with the pack. Rafa asks if FL4K is all right, and the reply is that FL4K does not know — but that Chew is.

Every line of dialogue in the ending cutscene

| FL4K | “I’m back. Where’s—” / “Chew…” |

| FL4K | “You’re—” / “New friends. Interesting.” / “Thank you.” |
| FL4K | “Okay, boy. Time to go.” / “Your brothers and sisters will be glad to have you back.” |
| FL4K | “Come on, it’s time to go.” / “What’s wrong? We’re going home.” |
| Rafa | “Seems like he wants to stay.” |
| FL4K | “I thought you’d be helpless without me.” / “Maybe I got it backwards.” |
| Rafa | “You all right?” |
| FL4K | “I honestly… do not know.” / “But I know he is.” |
What loads after the cutscene
The scene fades into a loading screen titled “The Upper Crust,” carrying the standard tip about badass enemies dropping better loot and granting more XP than normal ones. That is your confirmation the story content is finished and the game is returning you to play, not a second cinematic.
Note: Harmony walking away rather than dying leaves her available as a repeatable target, in line with how the rest of the expansion’s eight story bosses and thirteen minibosses work for farming the two new Pearlescent weapons and 18 Legendary items.
What you need to reach this ending
The ending is unmissable once Harmony goes down — there is no alternate version, no choice that changes Chew’s decision, and nothing to find beforehand that alters the outcome. Chew simply stays, and FL4K carries on with The Hunt without him.
