The Outlaw Warblade is a two-handed weapon in Phantom Blade Zero that heals you as you hit. You also have the option to spend your own HP to hit harder. Its lore line reads “A warblade once wielded by Jing Ye, the Outlaw.”
Quick answer: Defeat Jing Ye, the Outlaw, on the stream route in Crimson Forest, east of the Outlaw Trap bell. His weapon card is available immediately after the fight.
Where to get the Outlaw Warblade
The Outlaw Warblade comes from Jing Ye, the Outlaw, a boss in Crimson Forest.
That card confirms the weapon is yours. Confirm equips it on the spot. Back keeps your current loadout. Either way, the Warblade goes into your inventory.

These are the numbers at base level. Every other weapon is in the Phantom Blade Zero weapons list.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Two-Handed |
| Damage | 240 |
| Guard Break | 106 |
The card describes it as “A ruthless, blood-drinking warblade with high Shield-Breaking power. It can drain enemy blood to restore HP, or consume own HP to cut enemies down.” Each basic move feeds that loop. On PC, Light Attack is Left Mouse and Heavy Attack is F.
- Standard Combo (Light Attack x4): “Each hit drains life from enemies and restores HP. While Soul has Recoverable HP, the amount restored is increased. Has no effect on Puppets, Golden Bodies, or Phantom Bodies.”
- Sha-Chi Combo (F F): “Can be unleashed after any swing during a Standard Combo.”
- Power Surge, Bloodthirst Frenzy: “Consumes 1 Sha-Chi Essence to unleash a frenzied series of powerful slashes. If this attack hits an enemy, it pins them down and drains their blood to restore HP. The life-draining effects do not apply to Puppets, Golden Bodies, or Phantom Bodies. This attack is unblockable.”
- Reaping Retreat: “Follow any [Heavy Attack] attack with [Light Attack] to perform a retreating slash that drains life from enemies and restores HP. If any Recoverable HP remains, the amount restored is increased. Has no effect on Puppets, Golden Bodies, or Phantom Bodies.”
- Tempering art, Ruthless Outlaw: “The longer Recoverable HP is retained, the greater the increase in damage dealt, up to 25%.”
Bloodthirst Frenzy runs on the same Sha-Chi Essence as every other weapon art. The Power Surge explainer covers how that resource works.
Outlaw Warblade advanced skills by weapon level
Press T while viewing the weapon card to access its Advanced page. Leveling the weapon unlocks four skills. On PC, Right Mouse blocks, F performs Heavy Attack, and Left Mouse performs Light Attack.
| Skill | Weapon level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Reckless Cleave | Lv. 5 | Hold [Block]+[Heavy Attack] to charge Reckless Cleave. All damage taken during the charge is converted into Recoverable HP. If the strike hits an enemy, 50% of the Recoverable HP accumulated during the charge is restored. Has no effect on Puppets, Golden Bodies, or Phantom Bodies. |
| Unstoppable | Lv. 10 | Lv. 1: Slightly increases the rate of Recoverable HP recovery from [Light Attack] attacks. Lv. 2: Moderately increases the rate of Recoverable HP recovery from [Light Attack] attacks. Lv. 3: Greatly increases the rate of Recoverable HP recovery from [Light Attack] attacks. |
| Survival Shield | Lv. 15 | When Recoverable HP reaches 30% of Max HP, gain 1 layer of [Emergency Shield] for 10 seconds. After [Emergency Shield] expires, it cannot be generated again for 60 seconds. |
| Blood Arrow | Lv. 25 | While [Emergency Shield] is active, HP can be converted into Recoverable HP. Fully restoring Recoverable HP generates blood arrows that attack nearby enemies. Enemies hit by the blood arrows take increased damage. [Emergency Shield] ends after the blood arrows are fired. |

Survival Shield and Blood Arrow work together. Survival Shield triggers once Recoverable HP hits 30% of Max HP. Blood Arrow only works while that shield is up, and firing the arrows ends the shield.
Equipping and upgrading the Outlaw Warblade
If you pick Back, the Warblade stays in your inventory. You carry two weapons at a time and swap between them with 1 on PC.
To unlock the advanced skills, you need to raise the weapon’s level. Do that at the Forge or at any bell under Upgrade Equipment. The weapon upgrade walkthrough explains the menu.
Because several of its moves restore HP on hit, the Warblade can keep you topped up between Medicine uses. That makes it a useful addition to the other ways to heal in Phantom Blade Zero. The life drain does nothing against Puppets, Golden Bodies, or Phantom Bodies.
