Slayer 2: How to Get Breathing and Find All Trainer Locations

Every breathing trainer in Slayer 2, plus the level gates, materials, and traversal skills each one expects before training.

Every breathing trainer in Slayer 2, plus the level gates, materials, and traversal skills each one expects before training.

Breathing styles in Slayer 2 are not bought from a menu. Each one belongs to a specific trainer standing somewhere out in the world, and most of them are tucked behind a climb, a swim, or a long run through hostile territory. Eight styles are teachable right now, and every trainer wants a mix of levels, farmed materials, and a training trial before handing anything over.

Quick answer: Unlock the Wall Climb skill first, travel to the trainer who teaches the style you want, meet their level and material cost, then clear their training mini-games and trial fight to learn the Breathing.

What you need before any trainer will teach you

Wall Climb is the gate that matters most. Several trainers sit on rooftops, cliff shelves, and ledges that are simply unreachable without it, so unlock the skill before you start running across the map. Level requirements sit in the mid-to-high twenties depending on the style, with Level 25 and Level 28 both showing up on trainer requirement lists.

Materials are the other half of the cost. Demon Horns come from High Demons out in the snow area, and Beast Cores drop from Beast Born Demons around the northern villages. Requirement lists also reference the Floral Warding Mask, so read a trainer’s prompt before you commit hours to farming the wrong thing.

Tip: Demon Horn costs scale hard between styles. Serpent asks for 20, while Wind asks for 50, so bank horns as you grind rather than farming twice.

Insect and Flame: The trainers near the starting villages

These two are the easiest to reach early, because both routes start from villages you already pass through.

For Insect Breathing, set out from Beginner Village and head to the Butterfly Estate. Shinora is not standing at the front door.
Climb the main building at the estate and check the roof. Shinora sits up top, which is why Wall Climb matters even for one of the earlier styles.
For Flame Breathing, start at Mist Fall Village and follow the path out toward the Rengu boss spawn. Push past that spawn point and look for the house beyond it.

Go inside. Trainer Rengu waits indoors, so you can slip past the boss without fighting it if you keep moving.

Serpent Breathing: Bamboo Grove and the Serpent Trainee fight

Serpent is the clearest example of how training actually works, and it is worth understanding before you attempt any of the others.

Travel to the Bamboo Grove and find Trainer Obari. He requires Level 25, 20 Demon Horns, and 5 Beast Cores.
Farm the horns from High Demons in the snow area, then pick up Beast Cores from Beast Born Demons around the northern villages. Neither drops reliably, so expect several runs.
Hand the materials over and clear Obari’s training mini-games. These are timed practice drills rather than combat, and you have to finish them to move on.
Beat the Serpent Trainee in the final duel. Winning that fight is what actually awards the style.

Thunder, Stone, and Water: Three trainers around the Bear village

The Bear village is the single most efficient hub on the map, since three styles branch off from it in different directions.

Thunder Breathing (climb up)

From the village, work your way up the giant trees and cliff faces using Wall Climb. The Thunder Trainer stands on a high platform overlooking the area, and there is no ground route to reach it.

Stone Breathing (keep walking)

Gyorei sits on the ground path past the village, no climbing needed. Stone comes with an extra wrinkle, though: the Axe and Mace weapons are locked behind defeating the Stone Trainee, so plan for a fight rather than a simple purchase.

Water Breathing (dive down)

Head to the island house near the village and dive into the water beneath it. Urokodaki lives in an underwater cave, and reaching him means swimming a tunnel in one go. Oxygen drains as you go, so surface and reset your breath before you enter rather than halfway through.

Sound and Wind: Both trainers in Iceveil Valley

Iceveil Valley holds the last two, and the same trip can cover both if you are already stocked on Demon Horns.

Enter the Iceveil Valley canyons and follow them through. Tengai, the Sound trainer, is tucked into a hidden cliff area, so you will need to climb to spot him.
For Wind, run from the Bear village into the snowy stretch of the valley instead. Saneri waits out in the open snow.
Bring 50 Demon Horns with you. Wind carries the steepest horn cost of the eight, and the High Demons that drop them roam the same snow region.

Why training fails and how to confirm it worked

Training only completes once you finish the trainer’s drills and win the trial fight against their trainee. If the trainer refuses to start, it is almost always one of a few things.

  • You are below the trainer’s level requirement.
  • You are short on Demon Horns or Beast Cores.
  • Wall Climb is still locked, which blocks the approach entirely for the rooftop and cliff trainers.
  • You lost the trainee duel, which means repeating that final stage.

The fastest habit to build is talking to a trainer before you farm anything. Each one lists exactly what it wants when you interact with it, which saves you from hauling 50 Demon Horns across the map for a style that needed Beast Cores instead. Work through the Bear village cluster first, then sweep Iceveil Valley in a single trip, and you will cover most of the eight without doubling back.
