Enshrouded 1.0 adds seven building blocks with an Ancients look, and all of them belong to the Building Blocks: Cinder’s Cradle set. They do not all unlock the same way. Four appear at the Workbench once you pick up the new region’s raw stone. The other three only unlock after you find a specific chest, and two of those chests sit on floating islands that you can only reach by gliding.
Quick answer: Mine Basalt and Moonstone in Cinder’s Cradle to unlock four recipes. Open chests at the Island Ruin, below the Citadel, and inside Blackmire’s Lost Ancient Temple for the other three.

Every Enshrouded 1.0 building block and its unlock
| Block | Unlock method | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Pick up Basalt and Moonstone | Cinder’s Cradle | |
| Pick up Basalt | Cinder’s Cradle | |
| Pick up Basalt | Cinder’s Cradle | |
| Pick up Moonstone, Basalt, Sparkling Dust | Cinder’s Cradle | |
| Chest | Island Ruin, Sky Islands | |
| Silver chest | Below the Citadel | |
| Locked chest behind a Spark door | Lost Ancient Temple, Blackmire |
All seven are Common building materials, and they stack to 5000. Every Workbench recipe in the set makes 100 blocks per craft. Once a chest unlocks a block, you can craft more of it at the Workbench, so the chest only needs to be opened once.

Basalt is everywhere in Cinder’s Cradle. Pick up your first chunk and the Ancient Circles Block and Ancient Dungeon Block recipes show up at the Workbench. Collect Moonstone in the same region and you unlock the Ancient Stone Block. The Moonstone Block also needs Sparkling Dust.
| Block | Ingredients | Output |
|---|---|---|
| 10 Basalt | 100 | |
| 10 Basalt | 100 | |
| 10 Moonstone, 10 Basalt | 100 | |
| Materials needed: 10 Moonstone, 4 Sparkling Dust, and 3 Basalt. | 100 |
The Moonstone Block gives off light. A ceiling built from it glows at night, so it works as both a surface and a light source.
Sparkling Dust for the Moonstone Block
Sparkling Dust is made at the Mill, and the recipe unlocks when you pick up a Diamond. It is an item level 45 material that stacks to 250. It grinds Diamond, Moonstone, Celestium Ore, and Mother-Of-Pearl together, so plan for a trip to several regions before you can craft the Moonstone Block.

Mother-Of-Pearl is the ingredient most likely to slow you down. You get it underwater in Veilwater Basin. It is also processed at the Mill, and that recipe unlocks when you pick up a Pearl.

Ancient Beacon Block location: Island Ruin
The Ancient Beacon Block is in the Sky Islands. On your map, find Crater Isle and set a waypoint to the Island Ruin, which is to the southwest. From high ground on Crater Isle, jump and glide southwest into the doorway of the tall tower. Go through the entrance doors and open the chest in the room behind them.
Its yellow glow can be spotted from far away, making the block handy for marking a route or the top of a base.

Ancient Gold Block location: Below the Citadel
The Ancient Gold Block is a solid gold trim block, and it is in The Ancient Citadel on the highest floating island in Cinder’s Cradle. The chest is not in the main ruin. It is on a ledge below it.

Weathered Ancient Stone Block location: Lost Ancient Temple
This is the only block in the set that is outside Cinder’s Cradle. The weathered look is tied to the Blackmire, so its chest is in the Lost Ancient Temple, southwest of Ancient Spire. Bring 10 Sparks for the door and a lockpick for the chest.

The chest also unlocks the Workbench recipe. It combines a regular Ancient Stone Block with Blackmire Stone and makes 100 blocks per craft. That means you need the Basalt and Moonstone unlock from Cinder’s Cradle first if you want to craft more than the chest gives you. Blackmire Stone is a common terrain material that stacks to 1000.

How to confirm a block is unlocked
When a chest unlocks a block, the block goes straight into your inventory as a Common building material. You can check it at any Workbench. Each of the seven blocks appears there as a recipe with a stack of 100. The panel also lists each ingredient with its source, such as “Basalt, Cinder’s Cradle” or “Sparkling Dust, Mill,” and shows how many you have next to how many the recipe needs. If a recipe is listed but you cannot craft it, the panel shows which ingredient you are short on.
