Cursed Lover is the Yuta Okkotsu unit in Anime Origins, and it sits at the top of the Secret rarity alongside Valcrad and Madaro. What makes it the most interesting of the three is its Copy passive, which lets it borrow active abilities from the rest of your roster. Getting it is not a summoning problem, though. It comes from a timed game mode.
Quick answer: Reach Level 10, then clear Rifts. Each completed Rift has roughly a 2% chance to drop Cursed Lover, and the pity system guarantees the unit on your 40th Rift clear.
Farming Rifts for the Cursed Lover drop
Rifts are portals that open on the map on a timer rather than on demand. They appear every three hours and stay open for 30 minutes, so the countdown in the bottom-right corner of your screen is the thing to watch. Miss the window and you wait for the next cycle.
To confirm you actually got it, open the Unit Index by talking to Raiden, the NPC on the right side of the Summoning room. The room sits between the Story and Raid rooms, a short walk from spawn.
How Cursed Lover compares to the other Secret units
There are three base Secret units, and each one comes from a completely different activity. The Unit Index shows six entries because every Secret unit has an evolved form that counts separately.

Once you own the base unit, the evolution is handled by Mokito in the Evolve room, which is wedged between the Challenge and Leaderboard rooms. Cursed Lover (Pure Love) is the version that shows up in S tier, so treat the base unit as a checkpoint rather than the finish line.
Cursed Lover abilities and the Copy passive
Copy is the reason this unit scales with the rest of your account instead of standing on its own numbers. It stores copyable active abilities from other units, and those abilities keep their original effects and cooldowns.

The practical upside is obvious once you pair it with a strong roster. Copying Instant Transmission off Goki (Super 3) gives you repositioning, while Heaven Splitter from Madaro (Edo Tensei) hands Cursed Lover a 500% Damage slash with triple the caster’s usual reach. A weak bench means a weak Copy list, so the ceiling here rises with everything else you own.
Rolling the Immortal trait at the Trait Reroll station
Immortal is the trait you want on Cursed Lover, and it is the same recommendation for Madaro. It stacks four separate bonuses, with one hard restriction.

Rerolls happen at the Trait Reroll stations in the lobby, and you will cycle through plenty of Fury, Reach, Haste, Rupture, and Scholar rolls before anything premium shows up. A cinematic of Yuta and Rika plays when Immortal lands, which is your confirmation before you even open the trait menu. After that, equip it manually on the unit — rolling it does not attach it.
Tip: A common way to build up reroll stock is to reach Wave 30 in an Infinite mode run and restart at 2x speed, then repeat.
Leveling and ascending Cursed Lover
Levels come from feeding consumables directly to the unit. Candy Apples and Mochi-Bochi are the usual fodder, and dumping a stack will take Cursed Lover to Level 70 in one sitting.
Ascension is separate and handled at its own station in the lobby. Pushing Cursed Lover to Ascension II adds 5% range, which is small on paper but matters for a Ground unit trying to cover more of a map with borrowed abilities.
Testing Copy in Infinite mode
West City Infinite is a clean place to check that everything is working, since you control which units go down and in what order. Place Cursed Lover early, then get your Bluma (Data Analyst) farms upgraded so you can afford the expensive placements later.
Drop the unit whose ability you want, then use Copy to pull it across. The copied ability shows up in Cursed Lover’s own list, which is how you verify the passive actually registered. Upgrading Cursed Lover from its unit panel then scales the stats behind both Love Beam and whatever it has borrowed.
Because Immortal caps you at one placement, plan your team around a single high-investment Cursed Lover rather than spamming copies of it. Pair it with a farm unit, a support, and at least one unit carrying an active ability worth stealing, and the Copy slots do the rest of the work for you.
