The Jurassic Update turns the island in Grow a Chicken Fighter into an active event map. A volcano rises out of the ground, pressure vents need breaking, and a new Dinosaur Egg carries nine prehistoric chickens alongside a rare hatch mutation. On top of that sits a 40-tier Battle Pass, a new Amber Shard currency, and the Stone King admin abuse event.
Quick answer: Open the event, clear Battle Pass quests while collecting event eggs, carry those eggs back to the ancient egg to push it forward, then spend Dinosaur Eggs on the nine new chickens and bank Amber Shards for the event shop.
Everything the Jurassic Update adds
The update layers a limited-time event on top of the normal hatch, fight, and rebirth loop. Nothing here replaces the core progression, but the event rewards run on their own track and expire with the event.
| Addition | Details |
|---|---|
| Jurassic Event | Volcano cycle on the island with pressure vents, magma cores, and egg drops |
| Battle Pass | 40 tiers, fed by hourly and daily quests |
| Dinosaur Egg | New egg holding nine prehistoric chickens; 2.4% from the event crate |
| Jurassic mutation | 0.5% chance on an event egg hatch |

Add to Google Preferences →Dinosaur Egg odds and the Jurassic hatch mutation
The event crate is the main path to the new roster. Its posted odds are Fortune Egg at 25%, Dinosaur Egg at 2.4%, and the Jurassic Pack at 0.1%. Dinosaur Eggs are the ones that matter here, since all nine prehistoric chickens hatch from them.
Separate from the chicken pool is the Jurassic hatch mutation, a 0.5% roll on event egg hatches. It works like the game’s earlier Inverted mutation in practice, meaning volume is the only lever you control. If you want it, keep hatching event eggs rather than saving them, because the roll only happens at the hatch.

How the volcano event cycle runs
The event announces itself in stages, and each announcement is a cue to do something specific. It opens with “THE ISLAND IS SPLITTING OPEN!” and “A VOLCANO IS RISING FROM BELOW!”, then settles into a pressure loop once the volcano has emerged.
When “THE VOLCANO PRESSURE IS RISING!” appears, glowing pressure vents mark the ground. Call your chicken onto them to break them, which is what pushes the cycle toward “THE PRESSURE IS STABILIZING!” and then the energy release that powers up the island.

The second half of the cycle switches to magma. Prompts to grab magma cores and fire them into the volcano, plus the cannon and magma crystal instructions, drive the phase that ends with the Magma Chicken erupting and then being forced back below the island. Buffs drop throughout, including 2x Money for three minutes and 2x Hatch Luck and 2x Corn for five minutes each.
Note: event eggs you pick up during the cycle are not scored where you find them. You have to carry them back to the ancient egg, and the “GO DEPOSIT EGGS” prompt is the reminder that your run is not counted yet.
Amber Shards and the event shop
Amber Shards are the update’s event currency and only spend inside the event shop. They accumulate slowly compared to how fast the shop can drain them, so the safe play is to look at the full stock list before buying anything, then commit to the items that feed the part of the event you are actually short on.
If Dinosaur Eggs are your bottleneck, weight your spending toward egg sources. If you already have a steady egg supply and are chasing the 0.5% mutation, luck-adjacent purchases do more for you than another cosmetic pickup.
Stone King and the stolen egg
Stone King content arrives through the admin abuse event rather than the standard event loop, and it continues the story thread left by the stolen egg. The messages “THE STOLEN EGG IS STILL GLOWING…” and “SOMETHING DEEPER IS WAKING UP.” bracket the cracking sequence.
During the session, players are called to the center for Egg Drop Time, and capsules are thrown into the ring in batches. Ascension, Royal, Fortune, and Trophy Egg capsules have all shown up in these drops, so being in the ring when the countdown starts is the whole requirement.

The admin abuse session also exposes a Skip Ahead menu for tower floors, with paid jumps such as Floor 91 for $13.0M and Floor 96 for $55.2M, plus the option to start from the bottom. Only buy a skip if your chicken can survive the floor you land on, because the cash is gone either way.
Feeding pen cap 75, auto-rebirth, and mobile changes
The feeding pen now goes to level 75, and the feeder upgrade costs scale hard as you climb. The visible ladder runs from around $10.1M early on through $286.8M, $560.1M, $1.1B, and $2.1B near the top, so maxing it is a money project, not a quick errand.
Auto-rebirth was also changed so chickens eat before heading back to the tower, which removes the old problem of a chicken returning to a fight underfed. On phones, the flock menu, HUD, announcements, and arena were rescaled so event prompts stop overlapping the interface.
Explorer Hen joins the weekly rewards, which is worth a check every login since it sits outside the event track and does not depend on volcano progress.
Fastest progression order for the Jurassic Update

Check the event state before you start grinding
A quick pass over the event screen at login tells you where the volcano cycle currently sits and whether an admin session is running. If the volcano has already cooled, you are between phases and better off clearing quests, hatching stored eggs, or spending buff time on feeder upgrades until the next rise begins.

You will know the loop is working when deposited eggs visibly advance the ancient egg, Battle Pass tiers unlock as quests complete, and the island powered-up message fires at the end of a pressure cycle. If progress stalls, the usual causes are eggs never deposited at the ancient egg, Battle Pass tiers left unclaimed, or Amber Shards spent before the shop was fully checked.
