Storage Hunters Wild West Event: Gold Nuggets and Rewards Explained

Where the event sits, how Gold Nuggets are earned and spent, and every reward before it closes on September 26.

Where the event sits, how Gold Nuggets are earned and spent, and every reward before it closes on September 26.

The Wild West event turned Storage Hunters: Open World into a two-week gold rush. It drops a themed town at the Farmyard, swaps cash for a limited currency at the entrance to its auction garages, and hands out a set of mutators and vehicles that disappear when the event window closes.

Quick answer: The event is already active for every player at the Farmyard and ends on September 26, 2026. Collect Gold Nuggets from safes, panning, races, bounties and town defense, pay them as entry fees for the Wild West garages, and spend them in blocks of 200 at the Wild West Market for a chance at the Cowboy Classic Car.

Where the Wild West event is and how long it lasts

There is no unlock quest and no minimum level. The Wild West content is switched on for everyone, and it is built around the Farmyard area in the middle of the map, so it is a short trip from most of the places you already use. Walk in and the themed garages, NPCs and event auctions are all there waiting.

The run time is two weeks, ending September 26, 2026. Everything tied to the theme — the currency, the market, the event garages and the new mutators — stops dropping when that date passes. Items you already own keep their mutators; you just cannot roll new ones. If you want a reminder when server updates land, the Storage Hunters Open World game page has a Notify Me button.

Gold Nuggets and the Wild West garage tiers

Gold Nuggets replace cash at the Wild West garages. Each tier has its own nugget entry fee posted on the yellow entry pad, so your normal bank balance does not get you in the door. Higher tiers are also gated behind wins, not just currency, which means you cannot buy your way straight to the top bracket.

GarageEntry costUnlock condition
Wild West Garage 110 Gold NuggetsOpen to all players
Wild West Garage 440 Gold Nuggets20 wins in Wild West Garage 3

Your progress toward the next tier is shown on the pad itself as a win counter, for example “Wild West Garage 3 wins: 10/20”. If a pad refuses to let you in while you are holding plenty of nuggets, the win count is the thing blocking you, not your currency.

All five ways to earn Gold Nuggets

Nuggets come from five separate activities, and they do not compete with each other. Safes arrive through auctions you were already running, while races, bounties and town defense appear on their own schedule around the event area. Rotating through all five in a single session is what keeps the balance climbing.

MethodHow it works
Golden Nugget SafeWin an auction garage containing a safe, collect it, then open it for a direct nugget payout.
Gold Panner toolPulled from event auctions. Equip it and pan at panning spots around the map; it stays in your inventory and can be reused.
Horse racingRaces start in the event area at set intervals. Payout scales with your finishing position.
Bounty huntingClaim targets from the Sheriff and hunt down the bandits. A cleared bounty pays out a bounty reward of Gold Nuggets.
Town defenseA defense event spawns in the Wild West town. Protect it successfully and you are paid in nuggets.

The town is also where the event’s NPCs stand. The Gold Panner, Mayor, Sheriff, Mailman and Horse Keeper each hand out their own tasks, including mail delivery runs, and you start them the same way you start any other conversation in the game — walk into the green interaction ring and hit the Talk prompt.

Wild West Market rewards and drop chances

The Wild West Market sits inside the Saloon, run by the Wild West Barista. Every roll costs 200 Nuggets and pulls one item from a fixed table. The headline prize is the Cowboy Classic Car, and it is the rarest thing on the board by a wide margin, so treat the potions as the realistic return on most spins.

Note: the Cowboy Classic Car cannot be obtained once the event closes on September 26, 2026, so any rolling you plan to do needs to happen inside the window.

New mutations: Dusty, Tumbleweed, Gunsmoked, Goldrush and Saloon Sparkle

Four mutators drop straight out of the event auction garages. The fifth is not a drop at all — it is an upgrade path. Washing a Dusty item at the cleaning service gives you a chance to convert that mutator into Saloon Sparkle, which makes it the scarcest of the set because it needs an extra step and a successful roll.

MutatorHow you get it
DustyDrops from Wild West event auction garages; can be washed for an upgrade chance
TumbleweedDrops from Wild West event auction garages
GunsmokedDrops from Wild West event auction garages
GoldrushDrops from Wild West event auction garages

All five stop appearing on new items after the event ends. Anything already sitting in your inventory or on your shop shelves keeps its mutator permanently.

Horse Wagon vehicle at the Auto Dealership

The Horse Wagon is the one piece of Wild West content you buy with regular money rather than nuggets. It is listed at the Auto Dealership for $165,000, which puts it well within reach of a mid-game bank balance and makes it the easiest themed vehicle to secure before the window shuts.

How to check your Wild West Collection progress

The event adds a Wild West Collection page with 47 collectible items, and the index tracks your count at the top of the page as a simple “found” tally. That is the fastest way to confirm an event item registered — open the collection, check the counter, and look for the slot to fill in.

Individual items carry their own detail card showing rarity, value, condition percentage, the player who found them and the date, so a Legendary pull is easy to verify at a glance. If you want to confirm which mutators and features arrived with the event on your server, open Settings and select Update Log.

With a fortnight on the clock, the order of operations is straightforward. Keep running normal auctions so safes and Gold Panner tools accumulate on their own, fill downtime with panning, and drop everything for races, bounties and town defense the moment they appear, since those are the only nugget sources that run on a timer. Everything else — the market rolls, the mutators, the Cowboy Classic Car — is just a question of how big your nugget pile gets before September 26.
