The Luminous Egg is the limited-time egg that took over the Monster Egg slot in Steal An Egg with the Angels VS Demons update. It behaves like the egg it replaced, with one addition that matters: a rare re-roll that hands you a glowing variant of the pet and bumps its rarity up a step. That single mechanic is why the egg is worth buying in bulk rather than one at a time.
Quick answer: Buy the Luminous Egg from the limited-time egg shop with Robux (80 for one, 2,800 for fifty), then hatch the eggs at your pen. Each hatch has a rare chance to roll a Luminous Re-roll, which upgrades the pet one rarity tier and gives you its luminous version.
Luminous Egg prices in Steal An Egg
The egg is Robux-only, sold in four bundles. The larger packs are the cheaper route per egg, which matters because the re-roll is rare enough that single purchases usually hatch normal variants.
| Bundle | Cost | Cost per egg |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Luminous Egg | 80 Robux | 80 |
| 3 Luminous Eggs | 200 Robux | ~67 |
| 10 Luminous Eggs | 640 Robux | 64 |
| 50 Luminous Eggs | 2,800 Robux | 56 |
Note: this is a limited-time egg, and no official end date for the Luminous Egg has been confirmed. If you want the luminous variants, treat the window as temporary.

What the Luminous Re-roll does
A Luminous Re-roll is a rare outcome attached to the hatch itself. When it triggers, the pet you were about to receive is promoted one rarity tier and arrives as its luminous version. That is the whole mechanic, and it is the only reason this egg differs from the one it replaced.
| Rolled rarity | Result after a Luminous Re-roll |
|---|---|
| Cosmic | Secret |
| Secret | Eternal |
You can tell it worked by the hatch result, not by a separate confirmation. A Luminous Electric Eel, for example, produces about 3.2B/s against roughly 296M/s for the standard Electric Eel from the same egg, and a secret-tier Luminous Abyss Shark sits near 2.6B/s. If the pet has no luminous tag on its name, the re-roll did not fire and there is nothing to retry — the only way to try again is another egg.
Equipping luminous pets for higher earnings
A luminous pet does nothing while it sits in storage. Open the equipment panel and use Equip Best after any large batch of hatches — it swaps your slots over to the highest-earning pets in one press, which is the quickest way to convert a good hatch into offline income.

Slot count is the real limit. The Angels VS Demons update added a Bigger Base upgrade that grants one extra pet slot, so check the Active Pets list afterwards and unequip anything that is dragging your total down. Weak legendaries pulling 31K/s are not worth a slot next to billion-per-second pets.

Speed upgrades: Moonbloom Trail and Astral Treadmill
Robux eggs are only half the picture. The same update raised the ceiling on movement, and Speed decides whether you can carry heavy eggs home from the far end of the map. Both new tiers can be bought with in-game cash or Robux.
| Upgrade | Cash cost | Robux cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moonbloom Trail | 5Qa | 960 | x20 Speed multiplier |
| Astral Treadmill (Level MAX) | 15Qa | 1,200 | Top treadmill tier |
The fastest source of Speed is not a purchase at all. During an Admin Abuse event, the developers spawn an Admin Treadmill and apply a x4 speed boost while rare eggs appear across the map. Stacking your training on that boost is how most players push toward the 20 billion Speed recommended for the Angels and Demons biome, which is now the furthest area from the safe zone.

Capture the Egg rewards during the Luminous window
Alongside the shop egg, the server event splits everyone into Light and Dark teams and asks them to collect rings. The winning team gets an exclusive egg, and the reward tier scales with how long the objective is held — long holds have produced pets like the Eternal Gorilla King at around 1.7B/s and the Golden Eternal Lunar Dragon near 2.7B/s.

The outcome also feeds the map. The new biome flips between Angels and Demons after each night, with eight animals on either side, and there is a small chance of a merged version that carries both Angel Eggs and Demon Eggs plus extra luck while it is up. Divine-tier pets sit at the top of each list — ArchAngel on the Light side, World Burner on the Dark side.
If you are spending on the Luminous Egg, buy the eggs and the Speed in the same session. Hatching a Luminous Abyss Shark is only useful if you have the slots to equip it and the movement to keep stealing higher-value eggs afterwards, and the egg itself will not sit in the shop forever.
