C4SH at level 70 has one damage engine that outclasses everything else in his kit, and it runs on overshield. From Gloam Till Glow converts the overshield you are sitting on into flat bonus damage that rides along with every pellet you fire, which is why a build stuffed with high fire rate, multi-projectile guns melts raid targets like the Subjugator and Thol the Invincible even with gear that is ten levels behind you.
Quick answer: Max From Gloam Till Glow (5/5 plus +5 from a Windrider class mod), keep at least one point in Dusty Trail, run Turn of Fate for overshield, and slide to trigger it.
How From Gloam Till Glow works with overshield
From Gloam Till Glow is flat amp damage scaled off your current overshield, and it applies fully to every pellet rather than being split across a shot. At 10/10 points, which means 5/5 invested plus the +5 from a Windrider class mod, it reaches up to 200% bonus damage. It takes the element of the damage source that triggered it, so it stacks with whatever your gun is already doing.
The catch is uptime. The skill consumes overshield, so the build lives or dies on how fast you refill it. Turn of Fate solves that by converting lifesteal into overshield whenever your health bar is full, which creates a closed loop: shoot, heal, overflow into overshield, amp the next volley.
Three more skills keep the loop spinning at speed. Dusty Trail fires off From Gloam Till Glow when you slide, deliberately spending Fortune stacks to do it while handing you fire rate and reload speed. War Wagon refunds magazine ammo on kinetic damage, so you almost never break the rhythm with a reload. Nothing Beats Lead carves a separate kinetic instance out of each pellet, which means one extra Gloam trigger per pellet.
Nothing Beats Lead does nothing on kinetic weapons. Kinetic-locked guns still function here, they just give up a sizeable chunk of the build’s trigger count.

Add to Google Preferences →Level 70 C4SH requirements and gear level
You need a level 70 C4SH with the full skill point allocation available, plus a Windrider class mod. Gear level matters far less than usual here, because the damage comes from a skill multiplier rather than from weapon cards. Level 60 weapons, shields and grenades hold up fine against endgame bosses when the Gloam loop is running.
If you are starting a fresh C4SH to get there, the Choose New Game Type menu lets you begin at level 1, at level 13 for the DLC, or at level 30 on Ultimate Vault Hunter, and fast travel unlocks carry across your account.

Skill point allocation across the three trees
The spread is lopsided on purpose. Roughly 37 points go into Chaos Walking to reach and feed From Gloam Till Glow, 31 sit in Roll the Bones for overshield and Windfall access, and a single point goes into Luck of the Draw.
Chaos Walking (red tree)
| Skill | Points | Role |
|---|---|---|
| From Gloam Till Glow | 5/5 | Core amp damage |
| Dusty Trail | 1/5 | Slide trigger for Gloam |
| War Wagon | 3/3 | Ammo refunds, no reloads |
| Nothing Beats Lead | 1/5 | Extra Gloam instance per pellet |
| Unleashed | 5/5 | Fire rate |
| Stand and Bleed | 5/5 | Crit chance |
| Unshaken | 5/5 | General damage |
| Lawless | 5/5 | Boosts the kinetic portion |
| A Blur of Fingers and Brass | 4/5 | Fire rate |
| Trick Shot | 1/3 | Filler |
| Truck Full of Nitro | 1/5 | Kinetic instance on ordnance |
| Pale Rider | 1/3 | Kinetic instance on action skill |
The single points in Truck Full of Nitro and Pale Rider exist purely to give grenades, ordnance and action skills their own kinetic damage instance, which War Wagon can then convert back into ammo.
Roll the Bones (green tree)
| Skill | Points | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Turn of Fate | 5/5 | Lifesteal into overshield |
| Can’t Stop Winning | 2/5 | Enter Windfall by critting |
| Sweet Roll | 5/5 | Health and overshield on totem spawn |
| Red Moon Rising | 5/5 | Damage |
| The Wilds | 5/5 | Damage |
| Fortune’s Favor | 3/3 | Gun and skill damage |
| Bonemeal Ticket | 3/5 | Keeps totems alive |
| Devil’s Tines | 1/1 | Extra augment slot |
| Luckless | 1/1 | Jinx debuff |
| Let It Ride | 1/1 | Utility |
Can’t Stop Winning is the quiet keystone. Windfall normally triggers when you auto-reload an empty magazine, but War Wagon means you rarely empty one, so critting becomes your reliable way in.
Luck of the Draw (blue tree)
One point in Alchemy is all you need. It turns applied status effects into Fortune stacks, which is what feeds Windfall and, in turn, what Dusty Trail spends when you slide. It is a single-point skill that carries the entire stacking side of the build.

Cleromancy augments and totem picks
Cleromancy rolls C4SH’s Bone Dice and spawns a totem based on the result, and augments add more possible rolls to that pool. Heavenly Sevens, Five is Alive and Commotion’s Eleven is a solid trio. The Protector Totem from Heavenly Sevens is the standout for this build, since it hands you overshield on spawn and adds fire rate and reload speed scaled to your shields.
Running zero augments is a legitimate alternative. Fewer entries in the roll table means a higher chance of landing the Angry Totem, which grants gun damage over time. Dirty Dozen is worth slotting for fights where status effects cannot be applied, because it gives you a Fortune source when Alchemy has nothing to proc on.
Skip Mighty Nine if you are running Groundbreaker. Its bonus melee element fires Groundbreaker off early, so you never bank a large hit.
Class mod: Windrider rolls that matter
The Windrider is not optional. A Happy-Go-Lucky Windrider at level 60 does the job, and the ideal roll is +5 From Gloam Till Glow, +1 Dusty Trail, +1 Dealer’s Bluff. The +5 is what pushes Gloam to its 10/10 ceiling. The Dusty Trail point matters just as much, because without it you have to pull a point out of another skill to cover the slide trigger. Dealer’s Bluff feeds Cleromancy cooldown returns, keeping totems on the field.
For the raw stat lines, prioritise gun crit chance, gun damage and fire rate.
Shield, enhancement, repkit and grenade
| Slot | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shield (offence) | Super Soldier | Highest damage option |
| Shield (defence) | Hopscotch or Little Sister, x2 Turtle | Protects Gloam procs |
| Enhancement | Vindictive Pumper | Fire rate scaling |
| Repkit | Triple Bypass, War Paint, Kill Spring | Sustain and fire rate |
| Grenade | Waterfall with Lingering + Alchemic | Mass status for Fortune |
A Resonant Generous Super Soldier is the offensive default, while a double-Turtle Hopscotch is the choice when you want the extra buffer between incoming damage and your health bar. On enhancements, gun fire rate and weapon-type fire rate rolls have the tightest synergy with Gloam, since every extra shot is another trigger. A Jakobs Crit Knife grenade is a strong bossing alternative to the Waterfall.
Avoid the Watts 4 Dinner shield. It can badly damage your From Gloam Till Glow uptime.

Weapons: elemental, fast, and multi-projectile
The weapon profile is simple. You want high fire rate and as many simultaneous damage instances as possible, and the gun must be elemental so Nothing Beats Lead applies. Match the element to the health bar type you are shooting at.
The Domino People’s Triplicate assault rifle is a clean example of the shape: three projectiles per shot, so three Gloam applications per trigger pull. A Ceramic Bellicose Bod shotgun and a Hungry Scraping Enumeration SMG round out a practical three-gun loadout, with the SMG covering the deeper ammo pool.
Beyond those, the reliable names are Stray and Stealth & Seek for mobbing, Convergence and Broken Wings for bossing, and Acey May for its pellet count. Ripper charge mags, Jakobs ricochet accessories and Torgue impact mags are all good parts, and a Daedalus underbarrel in SMG mode buys you ammo reserves at the cost of some damage.
Firmware and specializations
- Firmware: High Caliber 3, Skillcraft and Active Fire cover projectile speed and skill output.
- Deadeye 3/3 also applies directly to From Gloam Till Glow.
- Bullets to Spare 3/3 adds fire rate and makes magazine size rolls worth taking.
- Specializations: Honed Mind, I Am A Gun, Riddle You This, Bullet Train and Groundbreaker.
- Groundbreaker is optional but doubles up, since Gloam damage builds it.
The combat loop: slide, stack, fire

How to confirm the build is working
The clearest sign is your magazine. With War Wagon at 3/3 and enough kinetic instances landing, the counter refills mid-fight and you go through entire boss phases without a reload animation. If you find yourself reloading constantly, you are not generating enough kinetic hits, usually because the gun lacks pellets or fire rate.

The second check is your shield bar. Overshield should be sitting full or close to it while your health is untouched, because that is the state Turn of Fate needs to keep converting lifesteal. The moment enemies start chewing into your health bar, the overshield steal drops and From Gloam Till Glow stops paying out. That is also why War Wagon draws from reserve ammo rather than creating it, so a long enough fight will still drain you eventually.
Damage numbers are the final tell. When Gloam is live at 10/10 with an elemental multi-pellet weapon, the jump is not subtle, and under-levelled gear stops being a limitation at all.
