Aniimo: How to Earn the Beast Fang Ridge Bronze Collection Badge (Primal Breath)

Beast Fang Ridge sits in the Breezy Plains, and it hands out one of the more confusing objectives in Aniimo’s early-to-mid game. The prompt reads “Primal Breath: Earn the Bronze Collection Badge in Beast Fang Ridge. (0/1)” and then tells you nothing else. There is no boss to beat and no chest to open. The badge is purely a catching target.

Quick answer: Catch enough different Aniimo inside Beast Fang Ridge to push the area’s collection progress to 40 percent. Primal Breath unlocks the moment you cross that line.

What Primal Breath requires and what it does

Collection Badges are exploration trophies tied to a single area. They are not items you equip from a bag, but each one applies its perks while you are in the region it belongs to. Primal Breath is the Beast Fang Ridge set, and the bronze grade carries two perks.

Behavior Mastery — increases your Aniimo catch chance in Beast Fang Ridge by 10 percent.
Nurture — lets you perform Nurture in Beast Fang Ridge.

There is a progression reason to care, too. Badges feed Safari player EXP, and the bronze badge here is one of the four core courses in Elite Training for Chapter 2, Charge Into Battle! Skipping it stalls that chapter.

Which Aniimo count toward Beast Fang Ridge collection progress

Only species that live in Beast Fang Ridge move the bar, and regional forms are counted as their own separate entries. That last part is the detail most players miss. A Mountain Woods Form Emberpup is not the same log entry as a standard Emberpup, so catching the local variants is the fastest way to climb.

Standard forms: Bonesky, Budclaw, Chirpi, Emberpup, Fenrier, Flamerion, Flameruff, Glynsera, Scorchhowl, Sparki.
Mountain Woods forms: Emberpup, Flameruff, Flutternym, Gracewing, Iris.
Other variants: Highland Pomegg, Thunderstorm Scorchhowl, Prismana Scorchhowl.

Wild Aniimo on the ridge generally sit between level 30 and level 35, so a team around the Chapter 2 level cap handles them comfortably. Catching duplicates of something you already logged does not raise the percentage, so always chase a name you have not seen yet.

How to reach 40 percent collection progress in Beast Fang Ridge

Open the world map, select Breezy Plains, and fast travel to the Beast Fang Ridge waypoint. Starting from a transporter rather than running in from a neighbouring area saves several minutes.

Engage the first wild Aniimo you see and knock its health down before throwing a capture pod. Weakening the target first is what makes the throw stick on the sturdier creatures on the ridge.

For skittish flyers, approach from behind instead of fighting. Sneaking up on a Flutternym and throwing a pod at its back registers the catch without a battle at all.

Work the rocky hillsides along the trail. Chirpi perch on the exposed rock faces and are easy to pick off from below once you have line of sight.

Head out onto the open green hills and look for Bonesky. They gather in groups, which means several attempts at the same species if the first pod fails.

Follow the cliff edges for Fenrier. These fight back properly, so bring them down first rather than opening with a pod.

If you run out of new species during the day, open the menu and change the time from Noon to Nighttime. Different Aniimo spawn on the ridge after dark, and that swap alone is often enough to close out the last few percent.

Check your position by opening the map and selecting the Survey menu for Beast Fang Ridge. It shows the area’s collection percentage as a single number, so you always know how far you are from the 40 percent line.

Twining with an Aniimo to cross the valley and rocky passes is much faster than running on foot, which matters when you are hunting one specific missing species.

How to confirm the badge unlocked

There is no delay and no need to return to the Outpost. The instant the catch that crosses 40 percent is logged, a “Badge Obtained” screen appears on-screen naming Primal Breath, and the Elite Training objective flips from 0/1 to complete.

Claiming the finished objective pays out Glimmer x30 and Tumbler x1, and the Home on Wheels prompt follows immediately after. From there you can open Elite Training and claim the Chapter 2 core course progress, which takes that set to 4/4.

Silver, gold and prismatic Primal Breath requirements

Bronze is the entry grade, and every tier above it stacks an extra condition on top of a higher collection percentage. The Beast Fang Ridge Alpha you need for silver is Scorchhowl.

The gold grade swaps the catch bonus for Prismatic Resonance, which speeds up Prismatic Energy buildup in the area. That makes finishing the full roster here worthwhile later, but for Chapter 2 you only need the 40 percent mark. Get the bronze badge, claim the core course, and the rest of Beast Fang Ridge can wait until your level cap catches up.
