Akaza, the Upper Rank Three demon whose human name is Hakuji Soyama, is one of the few characters in Project Slayers 2 that players can rebuild almost piece for piece. The clan, the race, the Blood Demon Art, the weapon, the fighting style, and the outfit all exist as separate unlocks, and each one has its own gate. Nothing about the process is random except the rolls and the drop rates.
Quick answer: Roll the Supreme Soyama clan, become a demon through Muzan’s quest, roll and train the Shockwave Blood Demon Art, then farm the Akaza boss for Annihilation Type and both outfit pieces.
Akaza build requirements in Project Slayers 2
Six components make up the full build. They have to be done roughly in this order, because the demon race gates the Blood Demon Art, and the Blood Demon Art mastery gates the final move.
| Component | Where it comes from | Gate |
|---|---|---|
| Soyama clan (Supreme) | Clan spins, character menu | 0.1% roll |
| Demon race | Muzan’s quest at night | Negative reputation |
| Shockwave BDA | Demon Art spins at Muzan’s Lair | Shockwave Orb roll |
| Damascus Sickles | Hoyuzo boss, waterfall cave | 7% drop |
| Annihilation Type + outfit | Akaza boss cave | 5% drop |
| Soryu fighting style | Kazuma’s trial, Mistfall Harbor | Four-part trial |

Unequip Slayer vanity gear such as the Flame Haori, Silent Vesture Top Hat, and Volcanic Katana before you start. Those pieces stay visible on the demon model and break the silhouette.
Turn demon with Muzan’s Spider Lily quest
Roll the Shockwave Orb and clear Core Training
Back in Muzan’s Lair, spend Demon Art spins until the Shockwave Orb appears. The pool also contains the Reaper, Dream, Tamari, Arrow, Obi Manipulation, Blood Manipulation, and Pyrokinesis orbs, and spins can be bought in bulk if the rolls go badly. Breaking the Shockwave Orb starts Shockwave Core Training.
The training is a five-part checklist, and failing any part sends you back to the start:
- Push ups, completed at the Butterfly Estate gym
- Barbell squats, done outside the estate
- Boulder Push through the walled obstacle course to the ring marker
- Boulder Split, a timing minigame
- Defeat 2 Mizunotos
Demons burn continuously in daylight, and the outdoor training steps are where most attempts fail. A Sun Hat can be bought from Kazu at Mistfall Harbor for $10,000, and the Bamboo Sandogasa also grants sun immunity.
Shockwave mastery unlocks and Annihilation Type
Clearing Core Training opens the Shockwave skill tree. Moves unlock by mastery level, and each one still costs skill points once the level requirement is met.
| Move | Mastery level | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Demon Core | Base unlock | Teleport ground strike |
| Compass Needle | 14 | Counter aura |
| Explosive Fury | 27 | Rapid kicks, ranged kick |
| Flashing Willow | 40 | Ground slam AoE |
| Annihilation Type | 53 | Ultimate shockwave burst |

Mastery comes from repeat boss kills. Hoyuzo, Obari, Tengai, Giyu, and Sumari all work, and a 2x Mastery boost cuts the grind considerably. Muzan also hands out elimination bounties, such as the contract on the Flame Trainee in Iceveil Valley, which pay out while you level the art.

Farm the Damascus Sickles, Annihilation Type, and Akaza’s outfit
Two bosses carry everything else the build needs. Hoyuzo sits inside the cave behind the waterfall, and the Akaza boss spawns in his own cave, reached through the hidden path behind the vines near the Serpent Trainee.
| Boss | Drop | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Hoyuzo (Lv 50) | Damascus Sickles | 7% |
| Hoyuzo (Lv 50) | Battle Kimono Uniform | Common |
| Akaza | Annihilation Type | 5% |
| Akaza | Azaka’s Top | 5% |
| Akaza | Azaka’s Bottoms | 5% |
The Damascus Sickles are the matching weapon for the build, giving +4 Additional Damage, a 1.08x damage factor, +5.1 Block Points, and 1.9x Block Regen. Hoyuzo runs also feed Shockwave mastery, so the farm rarely feels wasted. Refinement ore frequently drops alongside the sickles.
The outfit pieces are listed in-game as Azaka’s Top and Azaka’s Bottoms, with the misspelling intact, so search for that spelling in your inventory. The open-world version of the boss is also named Akeza, while Akaza is the Mugen Train raid version with 12,500 HP.
A 4x Luck boost from the shop improves the odds on the 5% rolls, and health regeneration elixirs from Alchemist Meku help during the repeat attempts, since Akaza’s kicks hit hard enough to force a long respawn walk.
Unlock the Soryu fighting style at Mistfall Harbor

Refine the sickles and Soryu style to +7
Refiner Hagane inside the Hidden Mist Village upgrades weapons and fighting styles using refinement ores and Yen, up to +7. Both the Damascus Sickles and the Soryu style benefit, and the ore you collected during Hoyuzo runs usually covers most of the cost. Leftover skill points are best spent on Max Health, which is where the Soyama clan’s damage reduction pays off.
How to confirm the Akaza build is complete
Check five things. Your clan card reads Soyama (Supreme), your race reads Demon, the Shockwave Blood Demon Art is equipped with Annihilation Type purchased in the skill tree, Azaka’s Top and Azaka’s Bottoms are worn, and Soryu appears as your active fighting style with the Damascus Sickles equipped.
The usual final test is the Rengoku boss, the fight that mirrors the character’s most famous moment. Beating him with Annihilation Type confirms every piece is functioning together, and he drops Black Dragon Armour on the way out.
