Where to pick up the quest, which mobs drop Lowlands Galestrider Tenderloin, and how to confirm the turn-in.

Ornery Ornery Galestriders is an early collection quest on Zephyros Isle, and it is exactly as blunt as the name suggests. Asmella Windfield wants seven cuts of meat, and the only way to get them is to fight the flightless birds grazing in the fields just south of her orchard.

Quick answer: Accept the quest from Asmella Windfield at Windfield Orchard, kill Ornery Galestriders in the Gustberry Lowlands to the south until you have looted 7 Lowlands Galestrider Tenderloin, then return to Asmella.

Windfield Orchard sits on Zephyros Isle alongside Falaath Village and Shen’Dar Village, so if you are working through the island’s opening quests you will pass through it early. Asmella stands in the orchard itself and is the only NPC you need for the whole thing.

Where to find Ornery Galestriders in Gustberry Lowlands

Once the quest is in your log, open the world map and look directly south of Windfield Orchard. The highlighted objective area covers the open grassland of the Gustberry Lowlands, and the Ornery Galestriders wander freely across it in loose groups.

There is no cave, no hidden spawn point and no timed respawn to wait on. The birds are spread thinly enough that you will do some walking between pulls, but they repopulate the field quickly, so you rarely have to leave the marked zone.

Hungry Bandits roam the same grassland and will attack while you are mid-fight with a Galestrider. Clear them rather than trying to outrun them, since a double pull in the open field is the main reason people die here.

How to collect 7 Lowlands Galestrider Tenderloin

Speak to Asmella Windfield at Windfield Orchard and accept Ornery Ornery Galestriders. The objective counter appears in your quest tracker at 0/7.
Head south out of the orchard into the Gustberry Lowlands and pull the first Ornery Galestrider you see. Fight one bird at a time where possible, because they are melee attackers and add up fast.
Loot every corpse. Lowlands Galestrider Tenderloin is not a guaranteed drop from each kill, so expect to work through more than seven birds before the counter fills.
Keep circling the marked area until the tracker reads 7/7. Opening the map confirms the objective is complete and the quest area marker clears.

Taming an Ornery Galestrider with the Taming Rod

The same birds are also the target of Tame Galestrider, an item effect on the quest-obtained Taming Rod. It requires level 10, has a 30-yard range and is a channelled cast that runs for 20 seconds.

A successful channel turns an Ornery Galestrider into a companion for 10 minutes. The catch is stated plainly in the effect text: if you lose the beast’s attention at any point during the channel, the taming fails and you have to start again. It cannot be used while shapeshifted, and it will not work if you already have an active pet out.

Turning in the quest and the Well-Worn Pants reward

Walk back north to Windfield Orchard and hand the meat to Asmella Windfield. The turn-in offers a choice of gear, and Well-Worn Pants is among the options on the reward panel.

You will know it worked when the quest disappears from your tracker, the seven tenderloins leave your bags, and the chosen reward lands in your inventory. If the tenderloins are still sitting there, the turn-in did not register and you need to talk to Asmella again.

It is a short errand overall, and the only real time sink is the drop rate. Clear the bandits as they come, loot everything, and the seven cuts come together in a few minutes of steady work in the lowlands.
