Farming turns your plot in Storage Hunters: Open World into a second income stream that runs while you bid on lockers. Seeds come out of the Farmyard, crops grow on your own property, and a watering can speeds the whole cycle up. The same patch also opened up co-op building and extra shop floors, plus a set of Garden-only accessories that sit in their own Collection Book tab.
Quick answer: Reach $10,000 net worth, pick up seeds and the Industrial Watering Can from Farmyard garages, plant them on your plot, then water each crop for a 3x growth multiplier.
Requirements before you can plant anything
Farming is gated behind Farmyard access, because that is where seeds and watering equipment drop. Nothing here is purchasable with Robux, so the only real barrier is net worth.
- $10,000 net worth to unlock the Farmyard area.
- $15 entry for a Stable Garage auction, the cheapest Farmyard container.
- At least one seed type in your inventory (Tomato, Sunflower, Apple, Broccoli).
- A plot of your own, since crops are planted on your property rather than at the Farmyard.
Barn Garages in the same area cost $25 to enter but need $50,000 net worth, so most players start with Stable Garages and work up. If you are not in the game yet, the live build sits on the Storage Hunters: Open World Roblox page.

Seeds are cheap items by index value, so they show up regularly in low-cost Farmyard units rather than needing an expensive Barn Garage win.
Planting, watering, and growth multipliers
Growth speed is the whole mechanic. A planted crop ticks along on its own, but water applies a flat multiplier, and weather stacks on top of that.
| Condition | Growth speed |
|---|---|
| Planted, not watered | Base rate |
| Watered | 3x |
| Watered during rain | Up to 4.5x |
You can tell the multiplier took effect because the crop’s growth timer drops noticeably faster than an unwatered plant sitting next to it. If nothing changes, the crop was not actually hit by the water.
Garden exclusive accessories in the Collection Book
Seven Garden items were added to the Exclusives tab of the Collection Book, split across Epic, Legendary, and Mythical rarities. They are tracked separately from the standard Farmyard index, so a full Farmyard collection does not automatically fill this tab.
The Forest Spirit Hat is the Epic-tier example and appears in your inventory like any other wearable accessory once obtained. Check the Exclusives tab to see which of the seven slots are still blank, since that is the only reliable way to confirm what you are missing.
Co-op building and unlocking shop floors 1 to 4
Two plot-side changes shipped with the farming content. Friends can now build on your land, and your shop can stack upward instead of spreading out.

Farmyard area reference
The Farmyard is normally the third area players unlock after the Back Alley, and it holds 120 indexable items. Filling that index is worth doing on its own, because the completion reward is a permanent luck bonus.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Area requirement | $10,000 net worth |
| Stable Garage | $15 entry |
| Barn Garage | $25 entry, $50,000 net worth |
| Total items | 120 |
| 5 items collected | 5 gems |
| 120 items collected | +14% Luck |
Ted is the area’s quest giver and his line opens at the same $10,000 threshold, handing out gems, cash, and consumables such as Calculators, X-Ray Visions, and Luck Drinks. The Farmyard is also the only source of Fishing Rods, which feed into the Lake fishing event, and a Cow item was added to its collection tab in an earlier patch.

Systems worth knowing alongside farming
Item Cleaning Service and the Perfect Mutator
Dirty mint-condition items can be run through the Item Cleaning Service, and a successful clean can roll the Perfect Mutator, which multiplies an item’s value by 7.5x. Cleaning Sprays in Small, Large, and Industrial sizes are sold at that shop for gems and raise your chances at the Pure and Spotless mutators.

Onyx mutator and Mike’s questline
The 175x Onyx mutator is locked behind Mike, who starts outside the Police Station. Freeing him requires handing over items including carpet and spoons, after which he can be met in the Back Alley. You need at least 1,575 luck for that meeting.

Nuclear Meltdown event
Venting the weather machine at the Nuclear Power Plant triggers the Nuclear Meltdown event, which brings the Radioactive and Nuclear mutators along with mutant fishing. It is the weather-driven counterpart to rain, which is the condition that pushes your crop watering boost to its 4.5x ceiling.

Map expansions and cargo train features have been floated as later additions, but no dates have been confirmed for them. For now, the practical loop is simple enough to run between auctions: farm the Farmyard for seeds, plant and water on your own plot, and chase the seven Garden exclusives while the crops grow.
