Steal an Egg: How to Get the Volcano Lost Part and The Scrambler

Dr. Scramble left a mess behind in Steal an Egg, and the escaped experiment hiding in the Abyss Ocean wants its vault back together. Two of the missing pieces are physical objects sitting out in the world, and the volcano one is the piece most players give up on because it regularly refuses to be picked up.

Quick answer: The two fixed Lost Parts sit behind the sleeping T-Rex’s head in Prehistoric and at the top of the Volcano. Turn them in to the Escaped Experiment inside the Secret Cave to unlock The Scrambler.

What the Stolen Experiment Vault requires

The vault menu tracks two separate counters. Lost Parts are the 2/2 line marked “Found in the biomes,” and Drone Parts are the 3/3 line dropped by Dr. Scramble’s drones. The Claim button stays locked until both counters are full.

Grab the two fixed parts first. They never move and they take a couple of minutes, while the drone pieces depend on spawn timing.

Reaching the Volcano biome

The Volcano sits at the far end of the run, past Desert, Jungle and Snow, and the zone is gated at 700,000 Speed. If you are short, the shop’s Free Gift hands out 10,000 Speed, and a Friend Boost adds a percentage on top while you build up the rest.

Nothing on the route matters for the quest itself, so you can sprint straight through the biomes without stopping for eggs or pets on the way out.

Lost Part 1 location: Prehistoric biome

Run into Prehistoric and look for the large green sleeping dinosaur. The part is tucked directly behind the T-Rex’s head, in the green blocks near the Guardian, and it is completely hidden from the main path. Walk around the back of the model until the “Lost Vault Part” prompt with the Collect option appears.

Interact with it and the banner “VAULT PART FOUND! Lost Parts: 1/2” flashes on screen. That notification is your confirmation, since the vault menu will not update until it fires.

Lost Part 2 location: Volcano biome

The second piece is at the volcano summit, within the fire at its peak. Scale the structure’s stepped sides and move toward the ledge; the gear icon and Collect prompt appear when you are close enough. No puzzle needs solving, and nothing must be unlocked beforehand, so players often mistake the piece for a bug instead of overlooking it.

You cannot use items in the safe zone, so do not count on a tool to shortcut the climb before you are out on the track.

Fix for the glitched Volcano Lost Part

A common failure looks like this. The gear icon renders at the top of the volcano, you stand right on it, and nothing happens. No Collect prompt, no counter change, no matter how many angles you try. That is a server-side glitch on the part, not a positioning problem.

The fix is to leave and rejoin on a new server. Once the fresh server finishes loading, run back to the Volcano biome, approach the same spot, and the Collect prompt should now register. The banner “VAULT PART FOUND! Lost Parts: 2/2” confirms it landed.

Progress you already banked carries over, so the Prehistoric part stays collected after you rejoin.

Drone Parts: the other three pieces

The remaining three pieces are not hidden anywhere. Dr. Scramble left three different drone types scattered across the map, and defeating them is what drops Drone Parts.

Three drone types roam the map, each capable of dropping a Drone Part.
A fresh batch spawns every 30 minutes, so a full wipe is not a dead end.
Drones also drop Samples, a separate currency spent at Dr. Scramble’s Experiments.
Samples buy the limited-time Experiment #001 Egg and Experiment #013 Egg.

Claim The Scrambler in the Secret Cave

Head to the Abyss Ocean biome. The cave is not marked on the map, so follow the right-hand wall until you spot the opening cut into it.

Use the Enter prompt on the Secret Cave portal to drop inside.

Walk up to the Escaped Experiment NPC and hit the Talk prompt to open the STOLEN EXPERIMENT VAULT menu.

Check that Lost Parts reads 2/2 and Drone Parts reads 3/3, then press Claim. The button switches to Claimed and the game confirms with “Vault opened! The Scrambler is unlocked.”

The Scrambler goes straight into your inventory, so you can equip it in the lobby and check it is there before heading back out. One last thing worth doing while you are down here: look up at the wall near the Escaped Experiment and you will find a vent leading into a small hidden workshop above the cave.
