Grassland Irisal is the Nova stage of the Grass-element Iris line, listed as No. 12D in the Aniilog. It keeps the DPS role and the Disco Aniimo trait of its earlier form, but it gains a third combat skill and a much higher stat spread. There are two routes to owning one, and the evolution route is the one most players will reach first.

Quick answer: Catch a Grassland Iris, raise it to Lv. 18, then evolve it inside Nimbus Fields during daytime for Sprout Stone x3. The evolution only becomes available after you defeat the Alpha Irisal.

Grassland Irisal evolution requirements

Every condition below has to be true at the same moment. Standing in the right zone at night, or hitting Lv. 18 before the Alpha fight, will leave the evolve button unavailable.

The form carries over exactly. A Grassland Iris only ever becomes a Grassland Irisal, so a Forest or Highland Iris will not work as a substitute.

Where to catch Grassland Iris

Grassland Iris spawns across four zones, so you do not have to farm the evolution map itself to find one. Open the map and hover a region to read the habitat tooltip, which names the Aniimo that live there.

  • Nimbus Fields
  • Mistwoods
  • The Argent Strait
  • Blitzwood

Nimbus Fields sits in the Breezy Plains region and covers a level 5 to 15 range, which makes it the easiest pick if you are still low level. It also holds 5 blooms, 60 chests, 2 bonfires, 11 lumin amber, 10 ecological points, 4 lumin collections, and 2 pathfinder challenges, so a capture run doubles as a clear-out.

The Argent Strait is the higher-level alternative in the same region, running between level 28 and 32. Wild Iris here can reach the low thirties, so bring a capture item with enough rate to hold a lock. On the ground, an Iris reads as a small yellow flower-shaped creature that wanders open grass and ruin paths.

How to evolve Grassland Iris into Grassland Irisal

Beat the Alpha Irisal. Until that fight is cleared, the Nova stage entry stays locked and no amount of levelling will open it.
Capture a Grassland Iris. Equip an Anipod, close the distance, and throw once the capture rate reads high enough to be worth the pod.
Raise it to Lv. 18. Open the party menu, select the Iris, and check its level and Star Up progress. This is also where you can confirm you are holding the Grassland form and not another variant.

Stock Sprout Stone x3 before you travel. The evolution will not start without the full amount in your inventory.
Travel to Nimbus Fields while it is daytime and trigger the evolution there. The zone check and the clock check both apply at the moment you confirm, so an evolution that fails at dusk will work after the next sunrise in the same spot.

Catching Grassland Irisal in the wild at Blitzwood

Grassland Irisal also spawns naturally, and Blitzwood is its only habitat. Catching one there skips the level requirement, the Sprout Stones, and the daytime window entirely, but wild Nova-stage Aniimo appear at much higher levels, so pack stronger capture pods before you go hunting.

How to confirm you have Grassland Irisal

The clearest tell is the skill list. Grassland Iris fights with Vortex of Petals and Floral Storm only; Grassland Irisal adds Focused Beam on top of both. Its Aniilog entry also flips to No. 12D and the Nova stage tag, and its Homeland abilities rise from Leisure Lv. 1 and Grass Lv. 1 to Lv. 3 in each.

Stats jump as well. The base total moves from 397 on the Lumin stage to 504 on the Nova stage, with attack landing at 118.

The Disco Aniimo trait carries across both stages. On Turf it raises Damage Amp by 30 percent, and once you are in combat each skill hit builds 1 Dance Power, capped at one stack per cast no matter how many targets you clip. At 24 Dance Power the next skill is free, and on Grassland Irisal that stack count also widens the range of the next Focused Beam. Blooming stays as the mobility skill, leaving flowers behind wherever it dances.

If you plan to collect the rest of the line, the same Iris base branches into Highland, Forest, Prismana, Plateau, and Mountain Woods variants, each with its own Nova counterpart. The Grassland route is the one tied to Nimbus Fields, so keep a spare Grassland Iris on hand if you want a second copy without another Blitzwood trip.
