Aniimo: How to Get Squashel (Blitzwood Spawns)

Both Blitzwood spawn points, the catch rates that matter, and the Lv. 47 Squarrel evolution that skips the hunt entirely.

Squashel is Aniimo No. 048, a Fire Break creature at the Nova stage with twin fist-shaped tails and a habit of lobbing burning pinecones at whatever it is fighting. It only lives in one place in Idyll, and it is not a common sight even there, so there are exactly two ways to add it to your roster.

Quick answer: Catch Squashel at either of its two wild spawn points in Blitzwood, or raise a Squarrel to Lv. 47 and evolve it.

Where to find Squashel in Blitzwood

Blitzwood is the only habitat Squashel appears in. It sits inside the Breezy Plains, and the area itself carries a recommended level of 47–49, while the wild Squashel that live there spawn between level 40 and 45. Only two spawn points are placed in the world, which is why it can feel like the species does not exist if you sweep the wrong half of the forest.

  • Northern point: the wooded stretch just above central Blitzwood, around coordinates -0638, 0550.
  • Southern point: further down the Blitzwood region, in the trees below the central area.

Open the map, filter for Squashel, and both points show up as habitat markers you can path to directly. The southern one is the easier sweep of the two because the tree cover is thinner.

Unlock the Electric Flow teleport waypoint in Blitzwood first. It drops you close to the spawn areas, which matters when you are resetting the zone repeatedly to reroll encounters.

How to tell Squashel apart from Squarrel

Squarrel shares the same forest and heavily outnumbers its evolved form, with 13 spawn points to Squashel’s two. From a distance the two look almost identical, so check the tail before you commit a pod.

Squarrel has a single large, fist-shaped tail. Squashel has two. That is the only reliable read at a glance, since both are orange, both are squirrel-shaped, and both are Fire Breakers.

Squashel catch rate and which Aniipod to throw

At full HP, a standard Aniipod gives Squashel a base catch rate of 28%, compared with Squarrel’s 56%. The chances shown below are much lower than the real odds once you damage or break Squashel, or throw from behind.

AniipodMultiplierLevel capFull HP chance
Aniipod×1Lv 128%
Legendary Aniipod×1Lv 3528%
Aniipod Pro×1.5Lv 2542%
Aniipod Hyper / Mega / Track×2Lv 3556%
Aniipod UltraGuaranteedLv 35100%
Sparkling CubeGuaranteedLv 35100%

Check the level cap column: every guaranteed pod tops out at Lv 35, while wild Squashel exceed that limit. You’ll need to weaken and break one instead of buying your way past the throw. Sparkling is a rare mutation available to every species, appearing in roughly 1 out of 20,000 wild encounters.

You know it worked when the pod locks and the Aniilog entry for No. 048 fills in with the Nova Stage card and the Break tag.

Evolving Squarrel into Squashel at Lv. 47

The reliable route is the evolution, because Squarrel is everywhere in Blitzwood and twice as easy to catch. The trigger is a single condition: the Squarrel must reach Lv. 47.

Squarrel

Catch a Squarrel in Blitzwood. It shares the same 40–45 level band and has a 56% base catch rate, so a plain Aniipod is usually enough after a little damage.
Level it to 47 through combat, Level Up items, or Training. Anything below 47 will not offer the evolution prompt, no matter how many materials you are carrying.
Open the party screen and check the level readout on the Squarrel’s card before you spend anything. This is also where you confirm the result afterwards, since the card flips to Squashel with its own CP and stat block.

Run the evolution and pay the Wave Stone cost. Squashel is the final stage of the line, so there is nothing further to chase afterwards.

Squashel skills and the Pinecone mark loop

Everything Squashel does keys off the [Pinecone] mark. You apply it, then spend it, and the payoff changes depending on which follow-up you use.

SkillEP costPowerCooldown
Pinecone Bomb15381s
Heavy Tail Strike204012s
Blazing Fist Barrage30851s
Blazing Rush02098s

Begin with Pinecone Bomb: it launches a burning pinecone that explodes on impact, then sends three additional fragments outward in every direction. Every target struck receives a mark.

Heavy Tail Strike is the control option. Against a marked target it consumes the mark for 50% more damage, launches the target, and stuns it for 2.5 seconds.

Blazing Fist Barrage is the damage option. The two-hit punch consumes the mark and upgrades the next basic attack into [Punch Rush], a stream of punches worth 60 Might.

Blazing Rush is the ultimate and costs no EP. Squashel’s tail sparks and drags cascading flames off the ground for heavy single-target damage.

The loop depends on its Raging Fire trait: use any skill, then perform a basic attack within 10 seconds to trigger that attack’s final hit immediately, raising Might from 4 to 25.

Squashel stats, weaknesses, and Homeland jobs

StatValueStatValue
HP110P.DEF80

BREAK108REGEN88

That is a base total of 548, weighted toward HP and BREAK, which is exactly what the Break role wants. As a Fire creature it takes 1.6× damage from Water and Earth, and takes only 0.625× from Fire, Grass, and Ice. It has no Flying or Tunneling state and no Pound or Ranged skill, so airborne and burrowing enemies are a problem you solve with a teammate.

Squashel

Outside combat it brings Climb Lv. 2 for pathfinding, and works Fire Lv. 2 and Artisanship Lv. 2 jobs in Homeland, covering the Blazing Stove, Simmering Pot, Chimney Kiln, Claw Game Cooker, and Woodworking Bench.

If you are weighing the two routes, the maths is simple. A wild Squashel saves you the levelling, but you are fishing for one of two spawn points at a 28% base rate. A Squarrel is thirteen spawn points at 56% and reaches the same place the moment it hits 47.
