Eagan Peltskinner Full Quest Guide in World of Warcraft Classic

Eagan Peltskinner is a level 2 Alliance quest in Northshire Valley, the starting area of Elwynn Forest. It has a single objective — talk to the man it is named after — and the only thing that trips players up is his location. He is not inside Northshire Abbey, and he is not standing with the other quest givers in the courtyard.

Quick answer: Take the quest from Deputy Willem outside Northshire Abbey, then run around the left side of the building to the rear. Eagan stands by the barrels at roughly 48.9, 40.1.

The quest exists only in World of Warcraft: Classic. It was added with patch 1.13.2 and was removed from the modern game in patch 4.0.3a, when Northshire Valley was rebuilt. Eagan himself still stands in his usual spot on retail, he just no longer hands out this particular errand.

The quest is optional and can be skipped permanently

Eagan Peltskinner is a breadcrumb. Its entire purpose is to point you at the wolf-hunting quest that follows, and that follow-up is available from Eagan directly whether or not you ever spoke to Deputy Willem about him.

Completing Wolves Across the Border makes the Eagan Peltskinner quest unavailable. If you want the extra experience and reputation, hand this one in before you finish killing wolves.

How to complete the Eagan Peltskinner quest

Turn in A Threat Within, then speak to Deputy Willem in the courtyard in front of Northshire Abbey. He offers Eagan Peltskinner as a follow-up. Accept it.

Face the abbey’s main entrance, but do not go inside. Nothing in the building relates to this quest, and walking through it only costs you time.

Hug the exterior wall and run past the entrance along the left side of the abbey. You will pass a stretch of bushes as the path curves toward the back of the structure.

Keep going until you reach the rear of the abbey. Eagan Peltskinner stands outside among stacked barrels and crates, at map coordinates 48.9, 40.1.

Click Eagan to open his dialogue and hand the quest in. He answers with a line about needing someone to hunt wolves for him, and the objective completes the moment you close the turn-in.

Accept Wolves Across the Border from Eagan straight away. It is the intended continuation and sends you into the woods around Northshire Valley to thin out the wolf population.

How to confirm the quest completed

Two things happen at once. The quest disappears from your log, and Wolves Across the Border becomes available from the same NPC. You will also see the experience and Stormwind reputation gain scroll past in your chat window.

Eagan Peltskinner rewards

There is no item or gold reward. The payout is experience and faction standing, and the experience figure depends on which version of Classic you are playing.

The pre-Cataclysm retail version of the quest paid 85 experience and 75 Stormwind reputation before it was removed in patch 4.0.3a.

At a level 2 character’s experience curve, 90 XP is a meaningful chunk of a bar for roughly twenty seconds of running, which is the whole argument for grabbing it before the wolf quest closes it off. Take it on the way past, then head into the trees.
