Match each blocked path to the right Aniimo skill, from burning thorns to burrowing under crawlways.

Idyll is full of paths you cannot walk through on foot. Thorny brambles, glowing lava rocks, high cliffs and sealed ice all block the way, and each one clears only when you twine with an Aniimo that carries the matching skill. Once you know the pairing, these stop being roadblocks.

Quick answer: Six obstacle types gate exploration, and each is cleared by one element or mobility skill. Fire clears thorns and ice, Magmarex smashes flaming boulders, flight reaches ledges, and burrow or bilateral skills handle the rest.

Obstacle and solution reference

Every blocked path in Idyll maps to a specific Aniimo type or named skill. Keep at least one Fire Aniimo and a flyer on your team, since those cover the most common blockers.

Fire clears thorns and ice

Thorny Wood

Thorny wood and tangled brambles block many paths. Bring a Fire Aniimo and command it to burn the growth away. You can also twine with the Fire Aniimo and attack the thorns directly with its abilities. Either approach opens the route.

Ice Barriers

Ice barriers seal off passages the same way brambles do, and they answer to the same element. Use a Fire Aniimo and command it to melt the ice. The barrier disappears and the path opens.

Flaming Boulders: use Magmarex

Flaming boulders are lava rocks that need raw force, not fire. Twine with Magmarex and use its mobility skill, Fast and Furious, to charge straight into them. Running through the boulders breaks them apart quickly.

Fast and Furious puts Magmarex into a high-speed state that knocks certain obstacles aside, with a short 0.5 second cooldown, so you can chain runs at clustered rocks. The skill drains stamina while active.

High Ledges: glide with a Flying Aniimo

Some rewards and routes sit on mountain cliffs, tall structures and other elevated spots you cannot reach from the ground. Twine with a Flying Aniimo and glide up to navigate those high ledges and hard-to-reach areas.

Tunnel Crawlways: burrow with Budclaw

Tight crawlways lead to underground spots you cannot squeeze into normally. You need an Aniimo with the Tunnel Mobility Skill. Twine with a Budclaw, use Tunnel to drop underground, move through the crawlway and burrow back up on the other side.

Bilateral Vision: switch perspective with Jawling

Certain visual puzzles in the world only line up when you view them from a different angle. These call for an Aniimo with the Bilateral Mobility Skill. Twine with a Jawling to enter Bilateral Vision mode, which shifts your perspective so you can complete the symbol.

Across all six obstacle types, the pattern is the same. Look at what is blocking you, twine with the Aniimo that carries the matching element or mobility skill, and the barrier gives way. Keeping a Fire Aniimo, a flyer and a burrower on your roster covers almost everything Idyll throws in front of you.
