Darnassus hides its trading hub in plain sight. The night elf capital is spread across terraces and bridges rather than packed into streets, so the Auction House is not a landmark you stumble onto while running between class trainers. It sits in one specific district, inside an open-air wooden pavilion, with four auctioneers standing in and around it.

Darnassus Auction House location: Tradesmen’s Terrace
Tradesmen’s Terrace is the large commerce district in the southern part of Darnassus, and it holds most of the city’s vendors and shopkeepers along with the Auction House. You can walk in from the Warrior’s Terrace to the north, or from the Temple of the Moon and the Temple Gardens to the west. The Temple Gardens route is the one most players use, since the Gardens sit at the center of the city and connect to everything else by bridge.
On the city map, find the Auction House as the second building from the northern end of Tradesmen’s Terrace, on the southwest side of Warrior’s Terrace. Its marker looks like a fallen beaker, making it easy to confuse with a profession trainer during a quick scan.

Standing on the path outside the pavilion puts you around 56.3, 53.2, and stepping up onto the terrace itself shifts the reading to roughly 56.5, 52.1. If your coordinates are drifting well away from 56 on the horizontal axis, you have crossed a bridge into a different district.

The railing on the far side of the terrace drops straight back down to the stone path below, which is a quicker exit than retracing the stairs.

Interacting with an auctioneer opens the Browse Auctions window with live listings from the server. Seeing that item list populate is the confirmation that you have reached the Auction House and not a nearby merchant, since a regular vendor opens a simple buy and sell window instead. Your map tooltip over the building will also read Darnassus Auction House.

Every capital city has had its own Auction House since patch 1.9, and all Auction Houses belonging to the same faction share listings. Posting from Darnassus puts your items in front of buyers standing in Ironforge and Stormwind City, and The Exodar joined the Alliance-linked network with patch 2.0.1. Anything you post here appears on the same market as those cities.
One caveat worth knowing before you plan a trip: the wooden buildings of Tradesmen’s Terrace burned during the Burning of Teldrassil, and Darnassus is now the Remains of Darnassus. The pavilion, its vendors, and its four auctioneers are what you will find in versions of the game where the night elf capital still stands.
