Candlelit Library (searched most as “candlelit library dti”) is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox. The game gives only the name, so the reading here is ours: a scholar studying late in an old library by candlelight, which points to dark academia, with cream knits, deep red and brown. We built two looks in Freeplay Mode, a cream knit scholar and a long red robe, and took our own pictures of each step. Every piece, colour, material and pose used is free, so both looks work without VIP. For the other themes, see every Dress To Impress theme we have built.

Quick answer: Layer the cream cable-knit cardigan from the jacket shelf over the collared V-neck sweater set to dark red Matte with a cream collar, and add the tall brown fringed boots. Finish with long black locs and the Lilac pose.

Candlelit Library outfit ideas in Dress To Impress

Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits, what it looks like and the exact spot we used on the Default palette (columns from the left, rows from the top), with the material we set. Both looks share the same long black locs and the same brown fringed boots. Neither uses a face from the vanity, a skirt, glasses or a held book or candle.

Shared hair: long black locs

We already wore this hair from an earlier look. To get it, sit in one of the Lana’s Salon hair chairs, open “Hairstyles”, go to the Feminine tab and click the top-left card: long black locs with a braided band across the top. Clicking a new hair card adds it next to the hair you already wear, so take the old one off in the Wearing panel afterwards. We kept it black.

Look 1: Cream knit scholar

Our idea: a student in the reading room after dark. A long cream cardigan over a dark red collared sweater, with tall brown boots.

Open the Wearing panel and take off what you have on with the heart X under each picture, so only your hair is left. For us that was a jacket.

The black top and black shorts that show now are the base body, not a piece. They cannot be taken off, only covered.

In the Dressing Room, go to the jacket shelf by the purple gothic arch. The cream cable-knit cardigan with dark trim is on its lower shelf.

Click the cardigan. It goes on and its colour panel opens at “1/1: Preview”, so it has a single colour part. We kept it in its own cream.

Walk to the tops shelf: a tall white shelf, with a mannequin in a sun hat and boho clothes on a round table to its right. On the middle row, find the black V-neck sweater worn over a white collared shirt.

While it is still a preview, set “1/2: Preview” (the sweater) to dark red (column 1, row 7) with Matte. In our frames the character stands behind the shelf here, so the new colour does not show on you yet.

Step to “2/2: Preview” (the collar and cuffs) and set it to cream (column 9, row 2) with Silk. Then press “Put On” and close the panel.

Open the Wearing panel to check. It shows three pictures: the hair, the cardigan and the sweater, which now shows dark red with a cream collar and cuffs. So yes, the cardigan goes over another top, and both stay on.

Click the brown fringed boots on the round table with the boho mannequin. Their panel opens at “1/3: Preview”. We kept their own brown and closed the panel, and the boots stayed on.

Open the Wearing panel again. It now shows four pictures: the hair, the cardigan, the sweater and the boots.

The finished look is a long cream cable-knit cardigan with dark stripe trim down the front edges and on the cuffs and hem. Under it, only a red V of the sweater shows at the chest. The black base shorts show at the hem, since we found no skirt in time, and the tall brown fringed boots come up to the knee.

On the Freeplay Runway, open Poses and pick Lilac under Solo.

Lilac turns the body to the side with a hand on the hip, so the cardigan’s length and the boots both show.

Look 2: Long red robe

Our idea: a robed reader in the stacks. A long red robe with wide sleeves and a tan belt, worn with the same boots.

Open the Wearing panel and take off the cardigan and the sweater with their heart X, so only the hair and the boots are left. The black base top and shorts show again.

The finished look is a long robe in bright red, not a dark burgundy, even though it is the darkest red heart on the palette. It has long, wide sleeves, falls to the ankles and is tied with a tan belt at the waist. We saw no hood up in our runway pictures.

From the back, the long black locs fall over the red robe, and the fringe at the top of the brown boots pokes through the robe near the hem.

Why these looks read as Candlelit Library

Candlelight is warm, so both looks stay in warm, old-book colours: cream, red and brown, with nothing bright or shiny. Look 1 is the scholar: layered knitwear, a collared sweater and tall boots. Look 2 swaps the layers for one long robe, the kind of thing you picture in an old library hall. This is plain styling advice; we have not seen how either look scores in a real round.

Our Thrifted outfit ideas and Night At The Orchard outfit ideas use warm browns and cream too, but with other pieces: a floral smock dress and a sage coat set for Thrifted, a plaid dress with a held lantern for Night At The Orchard. Here the look is knitwear and a robe. For a darker school look, see our Favorite Show outfit ideas.

How to recolour a piece and set its material

  1. Click the piece in the Dressing Room so it shows on you as a preview and its colour panel opens.
  2. Pick the part with the arrows beside the part name (“1/2: Preview”, “2/2: Preview” and so on). Each part takes its own colour and material.
  3. Set the material on the “+” tab: Matte for a flat finish, Silk for a soft sheen, Leather for a belt.
  4. Choose the colour on the Palette tab (the Default palette: columns are hues, rows run light to dark, and row 8 runs from white to black).
  5. Repeat for every part, then press “Put On”. To change a piece you already wear, click its picture in the Wearing panel.

To take a piece off, click the heart X under its picture in the Wearing panel.

Candlelit Library colours on the Default palette

Rows count from the top of the palette, columns from the left. Three colours cover both looks; the cardigan, the boots and the hair keep their own colours.

Candlelit Library pieces to look for

None of these pieces has a name in the game, so look for them by place and shape. All of them are free and worked on our account with no VIP and 0 stars.

Poses for Candlelit Library

We used Lilac for the knit scholar and Satin for the red robe, both free under Solo in the Poses menu. For the full list with a picture of each, see every free pose in Dress To Impress.

Building it in Freeplay Mode first

Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to find the pieces and set every part’s colour and material without a round running out. The sweater’s colour is easy to miss because it does not show on you while you stand behind the shelf, so check it in the Wearing panel. Once a look works, you know which shelf, which palette spots and which materials to go to when Candlelit Library comes up in a real round. For more themes built the same way, see our Boho, Robot Takeover, Album Cover, Potion Maker, Monochrome Mood, Divine Beings, Drag, Sweet 16, Camouflage, Deserted Island, Summer Cruise, Favorite Show, Fairytale, Cotton Candy Couture, Cyberpunk, Birth Stones, Y2K Popstar, Video Game Character, Top Model, Fast Food Mascot, DJ, Award Show, Drama Queen, Instagram Model, Day of the Dead, Malibu Dream, Stained Glass, Summer Camp, Modern Royalty, Trad Goth, Wonderland, Trip To London, Pop Art Princess, Sugar And Spice, Paranormal Investigator, Cursed Lagoon, Complementary Colors, Galactic Glam, Dancer, Midnight Circus, Jellyfish, Garden Tea Party, Enchanted Curse, Harvest Festival, Thrifted, Lazy But Cute, Possessed, Night At The Orchard, Bioluminescent Depths, Coronation, Your Country, Reality Television and Subway Rush outfit ideas.

How a theme round works

We have not had Candlelit Library as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes. On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players, followed by an “Intermission” countdown.

The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Candlelit Library to roll.

What we have not checked

No round we joined rolled Candlelit Library, so these looks have not walked a real round: there is no score, star count or vote for them. We found no long skirt, plaid piece, blazer, glasses, book or candle in time, so neither look uses one, and Look 1 shows the base shorts. Neither look has a vanity face. We did not recolour the cardigan, the boots or the hair. Both looks were built with 0 stars, and nothing was bought.

FAQ

What is Candlelit Library in Dress To Impress?

The game gives only the theme’s name. We read it as dark academia by candlelight: a scholar in an old library, in cream knits, deep red and brown.

Can I do Candlelit Library without VIP?

Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece, colour, material and pose used here worked on it, with no lock or price on any of them.

Can the cardigan go over another top?

Yes. We wore the cream cardigan and the collared sweater together, and the Wearing panel showed both. From the front, the sweater shows as a red V at the chest.

Where are the brown fringed boots?

On the round table with the boho mannequin, to the right of the tops shelf in the Dressing Room. Click them and they go on; we kept their own brown.

Why does the robe look bright red instead of burgundy?

We set it to the darkest red heart on the Default palette (column 1, row 7) with Matte, and on the runway it still reads bright red. The same heart on the sweater reads red too.

Which pose fits Candlelit Library?

We used two free Solo poses: Lilac, side-on with a hand on the hip, for the knit scholar, and Satin, with a hand raised toward the face, for the red robe.
