World of Warcraft: Eyes of the Sentinels Quest Guide

Eyes of the Sentinels is a short Alliance quest that keeps you entirely inside Darnassus. Sentinel Dalia Sunblade hands you a magical trinket and asks you to post watchful owls at four points around the city while the sentinels take time to pray to Elune. There is no combat involved, just four pieces of geography and a fair amount of running across Teldrassil’s bridges.

Quick answer: Pick the quest up from Sentinel Dalia Sunblade in the Temple of the Moon, then use the Lunar Pendant to place a Sentinel Owl at four set locations in Darnassus and return to her.

The Lunar Pendant is handed to you when you accept the quest, so there is nothing to farm or buy beforehand. Because the quest can be shared, anyone in your party who is also on it can tag along and place their own owls at the same spots.

All four Sentinel Owl locations in Darnassus

Each objective counts once, and the order does not matter. What does matter is that you stand in the right spot before using the pendant, since the owl only lands when the game registers the location.

Dalia mentions that the city guards can help. If you lose your bearings, ask a guard for directions to the bank or the inn and they will flag the spot on your map.

Fastest route through Darnassus

Starting from the Temple of the Moon, this loop keeps backtracking to a minimum: bank first, then north to the Cenarion Enclave, east to Craftsmen’s Terrace, and finally southeast to the gate.

Head to the Darnassus Bank in the middle of the city and stop beside the sentinel posted outside. Use the Lunar Pendant here to summon your first owl and clear the Darnassus Bank objective.

Open your map and run northwest along the stone paths toward the Cenarion Enclave. The route is a straight shot across the city walkways, so you can follow the path without detouring into side buildings.

Stop outside the tree entrance at the Cenarion Enclave, where the tunnels lead down beneath Cenarion Hold. Use the pendant here to tick off the Cenarion Hold depths entrance objective. You do not need to go inside.

Turn east and cross the upper bridges toward Craftsmen’s Terrace. This is the longest stretch of the route, and the elevated walkways connect directly, so there is no need to drop down to the lower level.

Step inside the inn and find Innkeeper Saelienne. Standing near her counts as being inside the Craftsman’s Terrace Inn, so use the pendant there to place the third owl.

Leave the inn and run southeast through the city corridors to the Darnassus Gate tunnel. Use the pendant under the stone archway to complete the City Gate objective and finish the placements.

How to confirm the quest is complete

Every successful placement summons an owl and flips that objective to 1/1 in your quest tracker. Once all four read 1/1, the quest is ready to hand in and you can head back to Sentinel Dalia Sunblade in the Temple of the Moon. Turning it in awards 660 experience and 75 reputation with Darnassus.

One naming note worth keeping straight: Eyes of the Sentinels is also the name of a debuff applied to Horde players in the Amirdrassil overworld, which turns most Alliance NPCs neutral. That effect has nothing to do with Dalia’s owls in Darnassus beyond sharing a title and an icon.
