The Northland Bank break-in is the one part of Chapter VII, Act III where combat stops mattering. During the Sneak into the vault objective in One Move Left to Make, the game strips your party down to a single trial character and drops you into a stealth sequence built around searchlights, patrolling guards, and a walkie-talkie you can only use in specific spots. Get spotted and you restart the segment; play it properly and you reach the vault door in about ten minutes.
Quick answer: Use the walkie-talkie inside each blue zone to pull guards off their posts, collect both High-Level Access Cards, then press Open Door at the vault entrance to trigger the Marozov cutscene.
What the vault stealth section locks you into
This is step 15 of One Move Left to Make, the third subquest of Chapter 7 Act 3, White Night, Like a Dream Upon Waking, which arrived with Version 7.1 on September 23, 2026. The act itself only unlocks after you finish the Act 2 quest Wraith’s Nocturne.
- Your active party is reduced to Traveler (Cryo) as a trial character for the whole segment.
- Vesna stays with you over the radio rather than as a playable unit, and she is the one who makes the fake reports.
- You are in Stealth gameplay, so guards, patrols, and searchlights all count as detection.
- Crouching and staying behind cover is the intended way to wait out a guard who walks into your room.

The walkie-talkie is not a free-use item. Each time it becomes relevant, the floor lights up with a glowing blue boundary and the prompt The walkie-talkie can be used within the blue boundary appears. Step inside that area and the interaction becomes available.
Every call is a diversion. Vesna reports a problem somewhere else in the bank, and the guard blocking your path leaves to check on it. The report changes to fit the situation, so you get a different excuse at each zone rather than repeating the same one.
If the prompt is missing, you are standing outside the blue boundary. Walk further into the glow rather than looking for another interactable.
Sneak into the vault: full stealth route

Chests and pickups along the route
Nothing here is required to finish the objective, but all of it is easy to walk past and awkward to return for once the quest moves on.
| Pickup | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Exquisite Chest | Room unlocked by the access card terminal |
| Common Chest | Lower ventilation and maintenance shaft |
| Radish | On a steam pipe in the maintenance area |
| Progress report | Desk documents covering Snezhnograd construction |
| Maintenance notice | Underground heating system notice in the shaft |
How to confirm the stealth section is finished
The stealth segment ends the moment the Open Door cutscene plays. Once Marozov spots you, the quest tracker switches from Sneak into the vault to Defeat the guards that have come, and the party control changes as well, handing you Vesna as the trial character for the fight.
That fight runs across two waves. Clear both and the objective flips back to Sneak into the vault for the short stretch that follows, leading into the chase after Regrator. If you are still seeing searchlights, guards on patrol, or Traveler (Cryo) locked in as your only character, you have not reached the vault door yet.
