Aniimo: How to Complete A Fragrant Journey: Driftwise Meadow

A Fragrant Journey: Driftwise Meadow is an optional quest involving Fantine, a perfumer who waits beside the river in Driftwise Meadow, looking dejected. The task itself is brief, but another chapter must be completed first; you can only finish it after obtaining the ingredient Fantine needs.

Quick answer: Complete the Fentufts and the Nimbi quest to obtain Bittersweet Dew, then give it to Fantine by the river to receive Heart’s Resonance and close the quest.

Where it starts and what you need first

Driftwise Meadow sits in the Breezy Plains region at a level range of 50 to 55. Fast travel to the Driftwise Meadow Bloom, then head to the river to its north. Fantine is there beside a Sad Nimbi. Talk to her to open the quest, at which point she asks for the ingredient she needs for her perfume.

Before you can hand anything over, you must clear the prerequisite quest, Fentufts and the Nimbi. That chapter is where the giant Bittersweet Bloom finally opens and produces the Bittersweet Dew that Fantine wants.

Complete Fentufts and the Nimbi

This is the longer half of the work. You join the Happy Fentuft Team, hit peak cheerfulness three times, and then coax a stubborn flower into blooming with a little sorrow. Track this quest before you start so the map markers point you to each stop.

Go to the group of Fentufts crowding a Nimbi. Choose Twine with Fentuft to take control of a Fentuft-family Aniimo. Your goal now reads “Reach peak cheerfulness! [0/3]”.

Find Helpful Fentuft at the first marker and bounce on the Springy Tuftballs until you reach Pure Happiness. This earns your first Joyous Tuftball.

Move to the second marker, where Meticulous Fentuft waits beside a Sad Nimbi. Interact with the Nimbi and snuggle it until it cheers up to earn a second Joyous Tuftball.

At the third location by the cliffs, find Excited Fentuft and speak to them to launch the Tuftball Super Rush Challenge. Use Scurry from the tuftball at the far left, then travel through the rest in sequence. Landing on the ground resets the run, so maintain your momentum over the floating platforms. Success earns your third Joyous Tuftball.

Go back to the enormous Bittersweet Bloom and give Super Happy Fentuft your three Joyous Tuftballs. Joy on its own cannot open the flower all the way, so this only advances it partway.

Take the marked route toward the river to find Fantine beside a Sad Nimbi. Twine with the Sad Nimbi to obtain one Melancholic Fluff.

Give the Melancholic Fluff to the Bittersweet Bloom. Once it flowers, collect the Bittersweet Dew from its base. Speak with the Fentuft Inspector to complete Fentufts and the Nimbi.

Deliver the Bittersweet Dew to Fantine

Open the quest log and switch tracking back to A Fragrant Journey: Driftwise Meadow so the marker points you to the riverside.

Return to Fantine by the river and give her the Bittersweet Dew. Finish the dialogue and she presses the Heart’s Resonance perfume into your hands before running off toward the Softdown Wilds. You know it worked when Heart’s Resonance lands in your inventory and the quest closes out.

Why Heart’s Resonance matters

Heart’s Resonance is the legendary perfume that supplies the blue color for the Fragrant Dream questline. Gathering all ten colored perfumes across the Breezy Plains is what lets you complete that chapter and unlock a Prismana Iris egg, so this quest is one of the pieces you need for that larger goal.
