Control Resonant: How to Start the New Growth Quest

New Growth is a side story in Control Resonant that puts Dylan on the trail of Dr. Raya Underhill, a missing Mold researcher. It doesn’t just appear on the map, though. You have to reach a specific conversation and then work through a short chain of stops before Underhill is standing in front of you.
Quick answer: New Growth appears in your log during Zoe’s Briefing. Talk to Zoe at the Watchtower, head to The Park, and question the FBC staff near the FBC Base door to begin investigating Dr. Underhill.
Where New Growth becomes available
You can start New Growth while Zoe’s Briefing is in progress. Go to the Watchtower and speak with Zoe; she’ll tell you that Dr. Raya Underhill, the team’s Mold researcher, has gone missing. When the conversation ends, the Quest Log lists New Growth as a Side Story, beginning with Ask Around About Underhill.
That log entry is your confirmation the quest has started. From here everything happens in and around The Park, so set your route toward the district.
Travel from the Watchtower toward The Park. From Central, plot a course to The Park Checkpoint and push through the Mold-covered streets and the Zone Access lift until you reach the district.

In The Park, locate the FBC personnel posted beside the FBC Base Fast Travel door. Ranger Busken describes Underhill’s disappearance and directs you to where she was last seen. Your objective changes to Investigate Underhill’s Last Known Location.
Follow the marker until a small search zone appears, then climb to the top of the building holding the FBC equipment. Search the tables up there to collect Underhill’s Resignation Letter and the Clearance Level 6 Keycard.
Use Fast Travel to reach Oldest House: Central Executive, then turn left from where you arrive. With Level 6 clearance, you can now enter the area’s second locked office, office 06.

Return by Fast Travel to The Park, then use the new marker to reach Underhill’s apartment building. Mold enemies guard the entrance; defeat them before entering.
Enter the building, go up one floor, and take the apartment on the left. Dr. Underhill is inside near the kitchen. Talk to her to trigger the core of the quest.
Agree to her request. Playing as Dylan, you hear her out as she asks for samples to be harvested, and she responds, “Glad you agree. There’s the key to my lab.” You immediately receive +1 Key to Underhill’s Sewer Lab.

You’ll see a “Quest Updated” prompt and the objectives switch to Collect the Equipment and Find the Test Subjects at the Lab. That update, along with the sewer lab key in your inventory, confirms the quest is fully underway.
What New Growth asks for next
With the quest active, Underhill’s lab becomes your destination. The sewer entrance sits along the Sewer Route between her apartment and the FBC Base, and the lab door there stays locked until you carry the key she just handed over.
Inside, the equipment cache clears the Collect the Equipment objective and grants a Power Upgrade Point, one of three you gather to raise Dylan’s Total Power. Tracking down the escaped Test Subjects follows from there, and completing the whole quest rewards the Untapped Brass Dusters Artifact Recipe along with the Budding Mycologist Trophy/Achievement.
