Dreadmist Den is a Burning Blade cave set high on Dreadmist Peak, in the northern-central part of The Barrens. It is not on the road and it cannot be entered from most sides of the mountain, because the cliffs are too steep to climb. The only practical way in is a single walkable ridge on the western face, and the cave itself sits just below the summit rather than at the very top.
Quick answer: Find the low ridge on the western side of Dreadmist Peak, just east of The Forgotten Pools, run up the spine to the summit, then enter the cave at roughly 47, 19.
Where Dreadmist Den sits in The Barrens
Dreadmist Peak is the mountain northwest of the Crossroads, near map coordinates 48, 18. As you climb, the sky shifts to a fiery orange and the summit is wrapped in a dark red mist. That mist is the clearest sign you are on the correct mountain and not one of the neighboring hills.
The den is a cave near the top, guarded by Burning Blade cultists. Inside, an altar sits beneath a floating red crystal. That crystal is impossible to miss and marks the exact spot you are heading for.
Reach the mountain’s western foot, with The Forgotten Pools immediately to its west. Nearly the entire cliff face is too steep to climb on foot; find the single gradual incline that lets you ascend.
Locate the narrow, low-sloping ridge that runs up the rock. Good starting points to look for the incline are around 50, 22 or 51, 21. Step onto the crest of the ridge rather than trying to cut straight across the steeper rock beside it.
Follow the spine of the ridge upward toward the summit. Stay on the natural crest and run straight for the top. Some approaches pass a small centaur camp, which you can walk around without fighting.
Reach the top of Dreadmist Peak. A zone alert confirms you have discovered the peak, and you should see a Burning Blade encampment ahead of you. The cave lies near this camp, not at the highest point of the mountain.
Go to the Burning Blade camp outside the cave opening; its tents and campfire make it easy to spot. The enemies here are low-level, so draw the guards individually and clear a route to the entrance.
You know you have arrived when the “Discovered Dreadmist Den” message appears on entry. Just inside, look for the altar surrounded by flames beneath the floating red crystal. That altar is the objective for players working the Burning Blade quest line here, and it sits only a short distance past the cave mouth.
With the ridge on the western face as your only real way up, the whole trip comes down to two things: hitting the correct slope east of The Forgotten Pools and holding to the crest until the red mist tells you the peak is yours.
