The Enchantsmith is the merchant that turns your collected enchantment books into active bonuses on weapons and armor. Raw damage carries you only so far into the tougher parts of Minecraft Dungeons 2, and this is the NPC that lets you tailor gear with passive abilities before a run.
Quick answer: Visit any Enchantsmith, marked by a purple spiral icon on the map, then spend Echo Shards and Enchantment Points to apply an enchantment book to a chosen weapon or piece of armor. One reliable spot sits beside the respawn teleporter in Brave Haven.

What the Enchantsmith does and when it unlocks
The Enchantsmith is a passive, non-attackable village merchant. Interacting with it opens a menu where enchantments are applied to weapons and armor through enchantment books. Each enchantable item can hold only one enchantment at a time, so the choice you make matters.
Enchanting is unavailable at the beginning. The campaign makes it accessible after you complete the Training With the Enchantsmith quest. You’ll usually reach this point around level 15, though your level depends on how much you explore and how many side quests you’ve completed. Once unlocked, Enchantsmiths are automatically marked on your map.

Add to Google Preferences →Where to find the Enchantsmith in the Overworld
The Overworld holds several Enchantsmiths, so you rarely have to travel far to apply an ability. Each one shows on the map as a purple spiral icon, and many sit next to fast travel points, which cuts down the walk between upgrades.
| Region | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Brave Haven | Beside the Town Merchant, just before the Minecart Stations; one also stands near the respawn teleporter |
| Howling Woods | Central area by the Minecart Station, plus a second near the Frozen Highlands border beside the Blacksmith |
| Frozen Highlands | Near the end of the region, close to the Town Merchant |
| Rainy Plains | By the Minecart Station at the top of the region |
When you reach a new Enchantsmith, check for a nearby Minecart Station and note it. Reaching the merchant later becomes much faster once fast travel is linked.

What you need before enchanting gear
Enchanting draws on three resources plus the gear you want to improve. Gather these before you head to the merchant.
| Requirement | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Enchantment Book | Dropped by defeated enemies; a book can be reused, not consumed |
| Enchantment Point | Earned by leveling up, to a maximum of 99 |
| Echo Shard | Dropped by soul-corrupted mobs and bosses |
| Compatible gear | Enemy drops or purchases from the Town Merchant |
Different gear supports different enchantments, so a book that fits one weapon may not appear as an option on another. Echo Shards have more than one use in the game, and spending them at the Enchantsmith is only one of them.

How to apply an enchantment
Enchantments start at level one and can climb to a maximum of level three, which makes their effects stronger. Upgrading an enchantment does not require or use up any books; it costs more Echo Shards and Enchantment Points. To unlock higher enchantment levels, you also raise the Enchantsmith’s merchant level by spending Echo Shards.
Enchantment upgrade costs by tier
Each tier keeps the Echo Shard cost flat while asking for more Enchantment Points as the level rises.
| Tier | Cost |
|---|---|
| I | 1 Echo Shard, 3 Enchantment Points |
| II | 1 Echo Shard, 5 Enchantment Points |
| III | 1 Echo Shard, 7 Enchantment Points |

Confirming the enchantment stuck
After you confirm, the enchantment shows on the selected item’s description, and the passive ability becomes active the next time you take that gear into combat. Because leveling up grants more Enchantment Points over time, you can return later to push existing enchantments toward level three or add abilities to fresh gear as your character grows.
