Wuthering Waves: How to Complete Past Dreams, Traced Seals

Past Dreams, Traced Seals is a photo-collection side quest set inside the Simulacrum Nexus of Mengzhou in Wuthering Waves. You follow the Resonator Suoming through the Heart Realms, stop at marked photo spots, and capture six scenes tied to the Scale of Past series. Finishing every stage hands you 180 Astrites in total, plus a steady stream of leveling materials and Shell Credit.

Quick answer: Clear the Mengzhou main story, go to Xuanfang Huaxu Academy, and talk to Suoming to begin. Then follow her through each Heart Realm and take all six photos to complete the quest.

How to unlock Past Dreams, Traced Seals

The quest opens up only after you finish the Mengzhou main story. Once that is done, head to Xuanfang Huaxu Academy and meet Suoming there. Speaking with her starts the quest and pulls you into the Simulacrum Nexus, where the rest of the objectives take place.

Full walkthrough with Suoming

After the quest begins, speak with Suoming inside the Simulacrum Nexus. Then interact with the marked spots in the bamboo forest and beneath the stone steps to gather the first clues.

A cutscene plays. Listen to the phantoms’ conversation once it ends, then return to Suoming to continue.

Move to the photo-taking spot and photograph the Heartscape Labyrinth. This is your first camera shot and pays out the first batch of rewards.

Open WavesLine and message Hsin. After the chat, talk to Suoming again to progress.

Speak with Suoming and use the Heart of Flames key to reconstruct the nearby phantoms.

Go to the next photo spot and capture the Heart Ring Pagoda. Talk to Suoming afterward, follow her to the next area, and defeat the Tacet Discord waiting there.

With the enemy down, speak to Suoming and photograph the giant tree. Then talk to her again and move on to the next location.

Track the quest marker and talk to Suoming, then photograph the Heart of Bloom. Proceed to the following spot and listen to the phantoms talk.

Stand at the marked position and photograph the Heart of Ruin. Talk to Suoming to travel to Mengxuan Vale.

Speak with the NPC Zeqi, then head to the photo spot and capture Mengxuan Vale.

Talk to Suoming and Yujin, then send one last WavesLine text to Hsin. This closes out the quest and delivers the final reward set.

Photo rewards for each stage

Each of the six photos pays out 30 Astrites and 30,000 Shell Credit, with the material bundle rotating between three types. Added together, the photos total 180 Astrites.

How to confirm the quest is finished

The quest wraps up right after your final WavesLine message to Hsin, once you have spoken with both Suoming and Yujin. When that last text goes through, the completion reward drops and Past Dreams, Traced Seals clears from your active quest log. If any of the six photos are still pending, check the quest marker and return to the missed Heart Realm to snap the remaining shot.
