Steal an Egg: How to Get the Jitterbug Egg and Cricket Banjo

The Jitterbug Egg and the Cricket Banjo are both handed out by the Jitterbug NPC in a hidden band room inside the Enchanted Forest Biome. You can only reach that NPC after finding a concealed portal and clearing a five-mushroom memory puzzle, so there is no way to simply walk up and collect either reward.

Quick answer: Enter the Enchanted Tree, climb the platforms by the central Altar, jump into the wind-like portal, solve the five-mushroom sequence, then talk to the Jitterbug NPC playing the banjo to receive both items.

What you need before starting

You must be able to enter the sealed Enchanted Tree in the Enchanted Forest Biome. If its entrance is still closed to you, complete all three quests from the yellow Wisp to unlock it.

Find the yellow Wisp in the Enchanted Forest and grow it to stage 4 through its quests.
Take 20 eggs from the Enchanted Forest, then bring them back to your base.
Fuse three identical Enchanted Forest pets in the Fuse Machine.
Take an Eternal Egg and carry it back to your base.
Return the Wisp to the sealed tree to unlock the Enchanted Tree entrance.

Reach the Secret Room portal

The portal is positioned higher than the main floor, so searching at the tree’s base will not uncover it. Use the central Altar and the elevated platforms as landmarks.

Go into the Enchanted Forest via the unlocked Enchanted Tree, then make your way to the Altar at the area’s center.

Step onto the walkable platform beside the Altar and follow it up to the higher section of the area.

Jump to the platform on the left, then walk all the way to its end. The wind-like portal waits at the far edge.

Jump into the swirling portal to teleport through the musical tunnel and land inside the Secret Room.

Solve the five-mushroom puzzle

Inside the Secret Room you face five colored mushrooms: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Purple. The game does not hand you the full combination at once. It reveals the order one piece at a time through visual clues, and the correct sequence is different for every player.

Try each mushroom on its own. When one makes the rest of the room go dark, start with that mushroom.

Press that same mushroom again. The screen goes black and reveals a pattern showing the mushroom you need to press next.

Activate the first mushroom, then the second one in the pattern you uncovered. The screen darkens again and reveals the sequence’s third mushroom.

Keep repeating the process, adding one mushroom each time, until you have identified all five. Then press all five in the complete order.

Treat each black-screen clue as the next piece of a growing combination rather than a fresh start. Write the order down if you are struggling to remember it, and do not guess the full sequence at once.

Claim the Jitterbug Egg and Cricket Banjo

Once all five mushrooms are pressed in the right order, the wooden door swings open and the band room appears in front of you. Inside, a group of insect NPCs play instruments on a small stage.

Walk up to the Jitterbug NPC playing the banjo and interact with it. The NPC starts a short dialogue and then hands over both rewards. You know it worked when two Secret Discovered popups appear, one for the Jitterbug Egg and one for Cricket’s Banjo, each with confetti and a prompt to tap anywhere to skip.

Keep the Cricket Banjo in your inventory afterward. It is the key item for a separate step: returning to the top of the Enchanted Tree, standing between the two yellow crystals opposite the large hall, and playing the banjo there raises a bridge to the Secret Fusion Room.
