AION 2’s endgame advances through timed seasons. Each one has defined opening and closing dates for ranked play; when it concludes, new rewards are issued and the next season begins immediately. For your planning, the key point is what gets erased and what remains—and the game is generous about what it lets you keep.
Quick answer: Season 1 runs September 30 to December 16, 2026. Only ranked ladders and season-shop currencies reset at the end; your character, gear, enhancement, and Abyss Points all carry into Season 2.
Season 1 schedule and key dates
Season 1 opened with early access on September 30, 2026, and is scheduled to close on December 16, 2026 at the daily reset (07:00 UTC, which is 11:00 PM PT on December 15). It lasts about eleven weeks, so your ranked push and any season-shop spending need to land inside that window.
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| Early access launch | September 30, 2026 |
| Official launch | October 5, 2026 |
| Season 1 ends | December 16, 2026 (07:00 UTC) |
| Season 2 begins | December 16, 2026 |
| Season 1 rewards claimable until | March 10, 2027 |
| Weekly reset | Wednesday |
Season 2 follows with no gap, running from December 16, 2026 to February 28, 2027. Seasonal content opens at level 45, which is the Season 1 level cap, so the ranked ladders and the season menu become relevant once you reach the endgame.
Season 1 rewards can be claimed until March 10, 2027, well after the season itself ends, so you do not lose a graded reward just because you log in late.

A season is a scheduled container for new content and a fresh ranking window. Each ranked mode keeps its own ladder for the duration of the season and pays out when the season ends. A new season then layers more content on top of what is already there rather than taking anything away.
New dungeons, additional maps, higher difficulty tiers, and new rewards arrive at the start of a season. PvE pillars like Nightmare and Transcendence and the PvP side in the Abyss and the arenas all follow the same rhythm. The practical read is simple. Treat the season boundary as a release schedule, not as a wipe.
What resets and what carries over
Only the ranked leaderboards and the season-specific currencies get cleared. Your character is untouched. That means everything you built, from your level to your enhancement levels, moves straight into the next season with you.
| Resets at season end | Carries into the next season |
|---|---|
| Rankings on every ladder (they pay out first) | Your level, gear, and enhancement |
| The Nightmare boss lineup | Abyss Points |
| Oath Coins (season-shop currency) | Phantasmal Fragments (Nightmare) |
| Daeva Pass Shop Coins | Centuryroot Tokens (Shugo Festival) |
| Odyle Energy and entry tickets (reissued fresh) | — |
| Arcana Transmutation (resets or changes) | — |
Oath Coins and Daeva Pass Shop Coins are deleted when the season ends, so spend them before December 16. The other carry-over currencies, including Abyss Points, are safe.
Ranked ladders and season rewards
Season 1 ranks five areas, each tracked per class: Nightmare, Transcendence, the Ascension Trial, the Abyss, and both arenas. Your standing is updated hourly and depends on both your rank within your class and your point total. Only the top 1,000 players in each class earn a graded reward.
The grade ladder, from the top down, runs:
- Challenger 1, 2, and 3
- Grand Master
- Master
- Diamond
- Platinum
- Gold, Silver, and Bronze
- Iron (no reward)
The Abyss follows a military-style ranking ladder, with Supreme Commander at the top and Ninth-Class Soldier at the bottom; holding a rank grants a buff. The highest rank provides up to 5% more PvP damage, reduces PvP damage taken by 5%, and increases damage dealt inside the Abyss by 5%.
What a graded rank actually pays depends on the content:
| Content | Every graded rank | Challenger 1 to Platinum also get |
|---|---|---|
| Nightmare | A Season 1 title | A helm skin |
| Transcendence | A Season 1 title | A helm skin |
| Abyss, both arenas, Ascension Trial | A Season 1 title | Nothing more |
There is no immediate payout at season’s end. The reward becomes available when the next season starts, upon your first visit to that content after the reset.
Season Missions and weekly rewards
Season Missions run alongside the ladders as a point-based objective track. Their points pay out a weekly reward and then reset every Wednesday, so the earning window restarts each week rather than stacking across the whole season.
| Season Mission points | Weekly reward |
|---|---|
| 1,500 | 400 Enhance Stones |
| 3,000 | Resurrection Spiritstone added |
| 4,500 | Odyle Energy added |
| 8,000 | Up to 2,000 Enhance Stones |
The Ascension Trial also rotates on the weekly reset. Only one trial is open each week, with Nightmare Altar and Sanctum of Loathing alternating, so the dungeon you can rank in changes every Wednesday.
What global Season 1 leaves out
The global build starts about a year behind the Asian release in content, but with that year of balance and quality-of-life changes already applied. A few things that exist elsewhere are not in Season 1:
- The global launch has no ninth class; Brawler is excluded.
- Each class has 13 stigma skills, down from 18.
- There are five Daevanion boards; Ariel, Marchutan, and Yustiel are not available yet.
- Arcana has two sets—Magic and Vigor—in place of seven.
Subjugation is also not ranked in Season 1, so it sits outside the season reward loop for now.
How to confirm the reset and your rewards in game
Open the Rank menu to check where you stand. It lists the ranked categories, shows a live season countdown, and displays your current grade, which recalculates hourly. That timer is the fastest way to confirm how much season you have left before planning a long grind.
The reset is complete when the ladders display a new-season countdown and your rankings return to zero. On or after December 16, your Season 1 title and any helm skin earned in Nightmare or Transcendence will appear when you enter that content for the first time. Your character, gear, and enhancement should remain unchanged; the reset was not meant to affect them.
Abyss Season Missions: Goals, Oath Coins, and Points

Some tiers add items. No Time to Rest gives 5 Silver Medals of Merit per tier, and Artifact Assault gives 5 Unique Amplify Stones (Bound) per tier. Bare Minimum Morality adds 1,000 / 1,500 / 2,000 Enhance Stones. Street Fighter pays Soul Codex items: 5 Soul Codex at tiers I and III, and Soul Codex: Reset at the others (1 at tier II, 2 each at IV and V). Peering into the Abyss adds 2 Lower Abyss Rift Stones per tier.
The weekly Season Mission track pays Enhance Stones at five levels: 400, 800, 1,200, 1,600, and 2,000. Level 5 also adds a Content Usage Ticket Selection Chest (Bound).
Odyle Energy rewards stop being useful once you hit the holding cap of 560, or 840 with membership. Each Odyle Energy item recharges 40.
