Getting jumped by a pack of enemy players is part of life in the Abyss, and in Aion 2 the fastest way out of a losing fight is usually straight down. Chaotic Lower Reshanta is a stack of floating islands surrounded by open sky, which means the edge of almost any island is an exit. Run off it, open your wings on the way down, and the people chasing you are left looking over a cliff.

Quick answer: When a group collapses on you near an island edge, sprint off the cliff into the open void, then press V mid-fall to deploy your wings and glide away toward distant terrain.

The dive-and-glide escape, step by step

The whole move takes a few seconds and relies on one keybind. The point is to trade altitude for distance faster than melee and ground-bound players can react.

Fight or bait near the perimeter of a floating island rather than its center. When the enemy group commits and starts dealing damage, you want the drop already at your back, not across the map.

Disengage and sprint to the edge, then jump off into the open abyss below. Do not wait to win the exchange. The goal is to get your body past the island boundary and into free fall.
While you are still falling, press V to unfold your wings and start gliding. Deploying mid-fall converts your drop into forward speed, which is what opens the gap between you and anyone trying to follow on foot.
Steer away from the fight. Aim for lower terrain, floating rock formations, or one of the giant creature spines in the layer. Putting that geometry between you and the group breaks line of sight and pulls you outside leash range, which is what actually resets the chase.

How you know the escape worked

You are clear once your combat state drops and the enemy target reticles can no longer reach you. Land on a ridge or island the group cannot climb to easily, fold your wings, and wait for your combat lock to clear before you leave the Abyss. Leaving while still flagged for combat can pull you back into the fight, so give it a few seconds on the ground first.

Done cleanly, the dive gets you out roughly nine times out of ten. It is not guaranteed, since a flying class can follow you off the edge, but most ground pressure simply stops at the cliff.

Where to position so the escape is always available

Because the trick depends on a nearby drop, the safest places to farm or bait are the outer edges of islands rather than their interiors. Hunting along the rim keeps an escape route one sprint away at all times.

  • Favor the outer perimeter of islands so a cliff is always close.
  • On low-elevation islands the drop is shorter, but jumping off to deploy wings still buys useful separation.
  • Some areas have very short fall ranges, so scout your exit before you pick a spot to fight.
  • Keep your glide pointed at cover, not into open sky where a flyer can run you down.

The escape is a Lower Reshanta tactic first. Chaotic Middle Reshanta restricts flight, so the same dive does not reliably carry you to safety there.

Chaotic Lower Reshanta reference

The escape plays out in Chaotic Lower Reshanta, the flying layer of the Abyss. Its named bosses sit at level 65, and the areas around them are exactly where ganks tend to happen. Knowing the layer helps you pick where to fight and where to glide.

Chaotic Middle ReshantaAbyss zone80
Chaotic Upper ReshantaAbyss zoneNo named bosses

Lower Reshanta’s bosses include Argo, the Spirit King, Guardian Lord Nahma, Watcher Kaira, Executor Tamasa, Executor Argo, and Executor Kaira, all at level 65. Their loot carries the Bloodthirsty gear set and the Unique Argo and Kaira pieces, which is why enemy players cluster around them and why you will want a clean exit nearby.

If you are farming the layer for progression rather than kills, the duty quest Reshanta’s Root is worth having active. It is recommended at level 48, repeatable infinitely, and pays Abyss Points x1,000 plus 200 bound Abyssal Power Shards for clearing its targets in Chaotic Lower Reshanta. Keeping a scroll like that running turns every pass through the zone, including the ones you escape from, into points.
