Star Wars Galactic Racer Racer Styles Ranked (October 2026 Tier List)

Every Racer Style sorted into tiers for both the campaign and multiplayer, with unlock conditions and the picks that carry a run.

Your Racer Style is the first big decision of any campaign Tour in Star Wars Galactic Racer. It locks in a starting trait, often installs an Ability before the lights go out, and shapes the pool of Parts you see for the rest of the run. In multiplayer the same styles are tied to the character you pick instead. With 14 styles to chase and a trophy list that eventually wants a win with each one, knowing which style actually earns its slot saves a lot of wasted races.

Quick answer: For campaign, run Ramjet Rider or Tenacious for the most reliable results on Champion difficulty. In multiplayer, the fastest picks are Redliner (Ary Quill), Clean Racer (Goli & 02-R0), and Firebug (Biddy Blas).

One thing to settle up front: the best style depends on the mode. Campaign rewards styles that hold up once crashes stop refreshing between events, while multiplayer rewards whatever reaches top speed fastest in a single race. The two rankings below reflect that split, and they cover the game as it stands in October 2026.

How these styles were ranked

Campaign placements weigh three things: how early you can unlock the style, how much setup it needs before the trait pays off, and how well it survives Champion difficulty, where a crash can end a Tour. Styles near the top work with almost any Parts you happen to draw. Lower styles need a specific combination of Parts and Abilities to click, which turns them into a gamble on a bad run.

Multiplayer uses a different lens. Because every race is self-contained, the question is simply how quickly a style builds and sustains speed. Styles that feed the Ramjet or stack Surging from the start line beat styles built around combat or recovery.

Ramjet Rider and Tenacious (S-tier)

Ramjet Rider is the strongest versatile choice: improved cooling makes the game’s riskiest boost sustainable for entire straights instead of just brief, cautious bursts. Equip Heat Reduction and Ramjet Power Parts, keep an upgraded Vent ready, and use this build to carry a Champion run against Kestar Bool.

Tenacious earns its spot by forgiving mistakes. It grants an extra crash before a run-ending reset, hands you Autopilot for the hardest corners, and adds a short Surging burst after a crash at higher ranks. It also unlocks almost immediately, which makes it the easiest strong style to get your hands on early.

Survivor, Slipstreamer, Clean Racer and Redliner (A-tier)

Survivor is the default pick and a genuinely solid one. A Shield absorbs your first hit, and a large Speed bonus holds until you crash, so every clean event runs faster than the last. Later ranks extend that bonus through a second crash and add a Surge whenever the Shield breaks.

Slipstreamer converts traffic into fuel. It begins with Surge, and drafting past rivals extends your Surging, rewarding clean lines through the pack. Any collision immediately ends the chain. Clean Racer takes a stricter approach to the same idea and also starts with Surge, but ranks just below because it unlocks much later.

Redliner is the high-risk Ramjet style. It supercharges the red Redlining zone and makes that danger window much larger, so the riskiest moment becomes your biggest speed advantage. An upgraded Vent that fires automatically near the end of the zone is close to mandatory, since it stops a mistimed boost from blowing the engine.

Afterburner, Brawler, Tech Expert and Ice Cold (B-tier)

Afterburner skips the Ramjet and stretches your ordinary boost instead. It is low-maintenance and shines on hot, hazard-heavy routes like Jakku where Ramjet play is dangerous. Brawler is the combat style, starting with Ion Bolt and refueling Energy on every Takedown, but contact racing burns through crashes fast once difficulty rises.

Tech Expert starts loaded with Concussion Mine and Status Scrubber, skipping the early scramble for Ability Packs, and grants a temporary Overcharged state when your Energy fully depletes. Ice Cold is the most technical Ramjet style, built around the Frozen status so the Ramjet runs without gaining heat. It needs specific cooling Parts to come alive and is the only style with no matching multiplayer character.

Engineer, Firebug, Stunt Runner and Weaponised (C-tier)

Engineer only pays off when hazards or opponents keep inflicting debuffs, which makes it strong on Corrosive planets and weak on a clean field. Firebug trades long boosting for short, violent bursts, setting you Burning on Ramjet use to spike both Afterburner and Ramjet power, but it demands precise heat timing.

Stunt Runner is built entirely around air time, refilling and doubling the Afterburner on a Perfect Landing. It is fantastic on ramp-heavy courses and does nothing on flat ones. Weaponised lands last only because it is the final style to unlock, arriving after you become Galactic League champion, so it cannot help a first clear at all.

Multiplayer Racer Styles tier list

Online, your style comes from the character you select rather than your campaign unlocks. That changes the math entirely: everything bends toward raw speed in a single race.

Ary Quill’s Redliner tops the list because her Surge stacks onto a Redlining zone that lasts twice as long, and a more powerful Ramjet while Redlining means more speed almost constantly. Goli & 02-R0’s Clean Racer starts with Overtaking Surge, extending the boost by 10 seconds and raising top speed with every pass, so blowing past the field at the start snowballs fast. Biddy Blas’s Firebug rounds out S-tier with one of the quickest Ramjet and Afterburner combinations, since engaging the Ramjet sets him Burning and the Flame Vent lets him effectively fire it twice per use.

Kestar Bool’s Weaponized sits a step down as the aggressive pick, arriving with Ion Bolt, Shockwave, and Concussion Mine to keep rivals pinned behind you. The B-tier characters are consistent but single-minded, each leaning on one mechanic rather than compounding speed. The lower you go, the more the style asks you to fight, crash, or recover rather than simply win the race, which is why combat and status styles such as Brawler, Engineer, and Tech Expert drop to the bottom.

Racer Style unlock conditions

Unlock progress carries over between Tours, including failed ones, so aim each run at a single counter rather than spreading your effort. Survivor is available by default, and Tenacious follows almost immediately.

Keep the Ramjet active through lengthy straightaways to advance Redliner toward 375 seconds and Ramjet Rider toward 950 seconds together, and purchase Ability Packs to progress Tech Expert, Engineer, and Ice Cold in parallel.

You will know a style is unlocked when it appears as a selectable option on the Loadout screen at the start of a Tour, and its progress bar in the Logbook flips to complete. If you are early in a campaign, start with Survivor and Tenacious, lean into the Ramjet to chase the two cooling styles, and leave Weaponised for a victory lap after your first championship.
