Your stash in ARC Raiders starts at 64 slots, and it fills up fast once you begin hauling weapons, crafting materials, and trinkets back to Speranza. Space is capped, but there are four separate systems that add room, and they stack with each other. The main lever is buying upgrades with coins, while Expeditions, the Nomadic Envoy, and the Outpost each add storage on top of that.

Quick answer: Open your inventory in Speranza, go to the stash, and use the Expand option to buy 24 extra slots per tier. The standard stash now reaches a maximum of 328 slots.

Buy stash upgrades with coins (up to 328 slots)

The most direct way to grow your permanent storage is to pay coins for expansions straight from your inventory. Each purchase adds 24 slots, and the price climbs with every tier. The Frozen Trail 2.0 update added two new tiers on top of the old ceiling, lifting the maximum from 280 to 328 slots.

Open your inventory while you are in Speranza and go to the stash view.

The Inventory screen shows the Stash with a Medium Ammo (Ammunition) tooltip listing compatible weapons Rattler, Tempest, Arpeggio, Renegade and Torrente.
Find the Expand button near the top of the stash panel. It sits with your stash controls and becomes selectable once you have enough coins.
Select Expand to see the cost and slot gain for the next tier, then confirm the purchase. The new slots are added to your stash immediately.

The full progression and costs look like this:

Coins are the currency gained by selling loot or completing quests. The first tiers offer inexpensive extra slots, so prioritize those purchases. The final two tiers cost substantially more than all earlier tiers, so hold off until you have enough items to use the added capacity.

Check the Expand screen for the current price before committing. The Frozen Trail update revised the currency and tier costs, so the number shown in game is the one that counts.

Earn 12 permanent slots per Expedition

Completing an Expedition grants 12 extra stash slots that stay with you permanently. These stack across multiple Expeditions, so finishing several over time keeps raising your base floor (76, 88, 100, and onward on top of whatever you own).

The Projects screen lists Trophy Display, ready to start, and Expedition, which is marked Temporarily Paused while expeditions are reworked.

There is a trade-off. Departing on an Expedition is a soft reset. Your stash drops back to 64 slots plus any permanent Expedition bonuses you have already earned, and you lose inventory items, blueprints, coins, player level, skill points, and progress on the Raider Den, Workshop, and quests. The permanent rewards you have banked carry over, but the rest resets. Weigh whether the 12 slots and other permanent unlocks are worth the wipe before you commit.

Trade with the Nomadic Envoy (level 25)

Ermal, the Nomadic Envoy, is a trader who sets up in Speranza and deals in rare and valuable goods in exchange for ARC components, gear, and weaponry. His stock rotates every week and can include blueprints, cosmetics, Raider Tokens, and stash expansions. You can visit him once you reach level 25.

When a stash expansion is in his rotation, he sells it in return for high-value items rather than straight coins. The eligible trade-ins are legendary and epic ARC parts dropped by specific machines, including the Queen Reactor, Matriarch Reactor, Bombardier Cell, Assessor Matrix, Turbine Compressor, Leaper Pulse Unit, Bastion Cell, Vaporizer Regulator, and Rocketeer Driver, totalling roughly 200,000 in item value.

The stash space you buy from Ermal is temporary. It resets when you depart on an Expedition, and his wares change weekly, so a stash expansion will not always be on offer.

Ermal also runs the Expedition Vault, a set of five slots you can pay to carry your most valued items across an Expedition reset. The slots are expensive, but they let you keep blueprints you rely on through a departure.

Unlock the Outpost for hundreds of extra storage slots

The Outpost, added in Frozen Trail, is player housing you can furnish, and the furniture itself acts as storage separate from your standard stash. Weapon racks, shelves, tables, and cabinets each hold items, and filling a fully built Outpost with the right furniture adds hundreds of slots beyond the 328-slot cap.

To unlock it, complete the three-part Sheltered Retreat project:

  • In the Farmlands, head to The Blue Gate and take a photo of any farmhouse close to the Ruined Homestead.
  • Deliver 3 Planks, 5 Sheetmetal, 10 ARC Alloy, and 10 Advanced Electrical Components.
  • Inflict 800 damage on airborne ARC machines, then deal 300 damage to a Bully.

Once the Outpost is open, you can relocate your Workshop benches into it and start placing furniture in the floor and wall slots. Dismantling the Draped Debris cluttering the rooms yields Planks and frees up placement space. Each weapon rack holds up to 4 weapons, and you can place up to 9 racks across the base and expansion rooms for 36 stored weapons. Larger shelves hold up to 8 items each, and tables and cabinets store trinkets, crafting materials, and food.

Furniture designs come from several places: 4 from the Frozen Trail Pass, 1 from DLC, 73 found as loot Topside, and 22 unlocked by upgrading the Outpost. Expansion rooms (Panoramic, Timeless, Chalet, and Studious) add more slots, but once a room is installed it cannot be moved or swapped, so plan the layout before you build.

Crafting materials and Scrappy’s food stored in Outpost furniture are pulled automatically by the game when needed, so you do not have to move them back into your backpack by hand.

Confirming your new space and freeing up room fast

After any coin purchase, the stash grid updates on the spot and the new slot total shows at the top of the stash panel. Expedition bonuses appear as a higher base after your next departure, and Outpost storage is visible as the filled slots on each piece of furniture you place.

If your stash is full and you cannot afford the next upgrade yet, recycle materials you do not need and clear out duplicate gear. That buys you breathing room until you have the coins or the components for the next expansion.
