Escape the Zoo drops you into a monkey cage on Roblox and asks one question: how do you get out? The game currently ships with two completed escape paths. One has you tunneling out through the floor, and the other has you blowing the place up. Both end the run, but they need very different strategies, and the failure conditions are not the same.
Quick answer: Dig straight down through the cage floor and break out underground for the Sewer Ending, or save 1,000 Bananas, buy C4 from the Gorilla trader, and plant all four charges around the zoo during daytime for the C4 Ending.

Escape the Zoo endings overview
Only two endings are live in the game right now. A third ending has been confirmed by the developers and is scheduled to arrive with Update 4 on May 16, 2026. Until that update goes live, the table below covers every ending you can actually complete.
| Ending | Primary requirement | Best time to act | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sewer Ending | Dig a deep tunnel out of the cage | Daytime (cover hole at night) | You escape underground; game ends |
| C4 Ending | 1,000 Bananas + 4 C4 charges placed | Daytime only | The zoo is destroyed; game ends |

The Sewer Ending is the default route and the one the game nudges you toward from the start. The whole loop is built around digging straight down inside your cage, surviving guard patrols, and reaching the bottom of the dig meter on the right side of the screen.

You will know it worked when the screen transitions out of the cage and shows the escape sequence. Police search the zoo but cannot find you, which confirms the Sewer Ending.
C4 Ending: Blow up the zoo (Chaos Ending)
The second ending is sometimes called the Chaos Ending. Instead of escaping quietly, you destroy the zoo using four C4 charges sold by the Gorilla trader. Each charge costs nothing on its own, but the gated purchase needs 1,000 Bananas, which is the slow part of the run.

The ending fires the moment the last C4 is placed. All four charges blow, the zoo collapses into chaos, and the run resolves into the C4 Ending screen.
Common failure reasons
Most failed runs come down to a small handful of mistakes that apply to both endings.
| Mistake | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Digging at night with the hole uncovered | Guard spots you, run ends | Cover the hole before night begins |
| Placing C4 at night | Guards catch you outside the cage | Only leave the cage during daytime crowds |
| Empty hunger bar | Cannot dig, run stalls | Eat free worker food or steal from tourists |
| Spending Bananas on dynamite | Slows C4 savings, low payoff | Skip dynamite, save for C4 only |
Upcoming third ending
A third ending has been confirmed by the developers and is set to release with Update 4 on May 16, 2026. No mechanics for that ending have been published yet, and it is not playable on live servers as of this writing. Until Update 4 deploys, the Sewer Ending and the C4 Ending are the only two completions counted toward the game.
Whichever route you pick, the run loop is the same at its core. Dig, eat, sell, and time your moves around the day-night cycle. The Sewer Ending rewards patience and careful covering of the hole. The C4 Ending rewards a fast Banana economy and a clean daytime sprint to all four placement spots.
