Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse: How to Unlock Every Rose Belmont Skin

Four costumes come from playing, including a Konami code unlock, while three are locked to the Midnight Edition and pre-orders.

Rose Belmont can swap between seven different outfits across her run through Paris, and several of them turn her into familiar faces from earlier in the series. The costumes are purely cosmetic, so none of them change your stats or abilities, but they do change how Rose looks in every cutscene and fight.

Quick answer: There are seven Rose costumes. Four come from playing (the default outfit, Sonia via the Konami code, Doppelganger, and Cursed), while Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard are tied to the Midnight Edition and pre-orders.

Where to change Rose’s costume

Your available costumes are collected in one menu. Bring up the pause screen, enter the System section, then choose Character Skin. Browse the unlocked looks there and apply your pick. No wardrobe or shop visit is required; your choice remains active until you replace it, so you can pair a free unlock with a costume from a paid edition.

Costumes you unlock by playing

Rose’s Outfit (default)

Rose starts out wearing this look when she arrives in Paris. It is granted automatically and remains among the Character Skin options for the entire game. The design features the long coat and tall boots worn by the vampire hunters who preceded her.

Sonia Style Costume (Konami code)

Sonia Style, based on Sonia Belmont, unlocks the instant you input the classic Konami code while playing. The directional part is always the same, and the final two inputs map to your Dodge and Jump buttons, so the full sequence reads as the directions followed by Dodge then Jump.

PlatformInput
PlayStationPress Up twice, Down twice, Left, Right, Left, Right, then X and O.
XboxPress Up twice, Down twice, Left, Right, Left, Right, then A and B.

When the code is accepted, a New Character Skin Unlocked! notice appears in a corner, accompanied by a chime. Next, go to System and use Character Skin to equip the Sonia Style Costume. Rose’s entire appearance changes: she wears Sonia’s green outfit, and her cursed arm is no longer visible.

Use the D-pad or a keyboard rather than a control stick. The diagonal drift on a stick makes the directional inputs harder to register cleanly.

Doppelganger Style Costume

This darker costume becomes available after you defeat The Self, Rose’s shadowy double, in Notre-Dame. The fight follows the four virtues, and the skin unlocks in the outro scene once The Self is beaten. The look is a gloomy spin on Rose’s usual appearance, earned by mastering the dark emotions inside her.

Cursed’s Outfit (bad ending)

Cursed’s Outfit becomes available by securing the bad ending. Once at Dracula’s Castle, traverse the Clock Tower until you find the Cursed Horologium on the route to Isaac. Do this before collecting every Arcana. When prompted, choose not to turn back; this commits you to the bad ending. The curse then covers Rose’s whole body, rather than being limited to her right arm, giving her a corrupted appearance.

Costumes tied to editions and pre-orders

The final three outfits are not rewards you can earn during play. Their availability depends on the timing and manner of your purchase, and each turns Rose into someone from her own family tree.

Trevor Style Costume

Modeled on Trevor Belmont, Rose’s father, this outfit comes with the Midnight Edition and currently cannot be obtained any other way. It gives Rose brunette hair and the battered look of a monster hunter who keeps battling the darkness.

Sypha Style Costume

Sypha Style is modeled on Sypha Belnades, Rose’s mother, and also comes bundled with the Midnight Edition. The look leans on a sorceress’s refined robes, swapping Rose’s hunter gear for something more elegant. The same edition includes a Family’s Grace relic that nods to both parents.

Alucard Style Costume

Alucard Style gives Rose an outfit based on Alucard’s appearance in Symphony of the Night, with icy refinement and ruined aristocratic drama. It was a pre-order bonus that also required completing the demo, so anyone who missed the offer period cannot obtain it at present.

How to confirm a costume unlocked

With the Konami code, confirmation comes right away: the New Character Skin Unlocked! banner appears with a chime, confirming the Sonia Style Costume was registered. Story-based outfits appear in the scene following the relevant event (defeating The Self, or committing to the bad ending); afterward, you can select them under System and Character Skin. Any outfit listed there can be equipped for the rest of that file.
