Shogun’s Reign Beginner Guide: Fast Money, Jobs, and Roles (Roblox)

How to enter the province, prioritize quests, earn your first wages, and climb toward Samurai and Shogun.

How to enter the province, prioritize quests, earn your first wages, and climb toward Samurai and Shogun.

Shogun’s Reign drops you into an Edo-period province as a farmer with empty pockets and no standing. The game layers roleplay, survival, and a player-run economy on top of a social ladder that climbs all the way to the Shogunate. The early hours are about learning three things fast: where to work, how to read the province’s rules, and where to spend the money you make.

Quick answer: Customize your character, enter the province, follow story quests first, and earn money through farming. Check World Info for laws, taxes, and wages before working, then spend earnings on skills that match your current job.

Start playing from the official Roblox page for Shogun’s Reign.

Create your character and enter the province

Before entering the world, use the character creator to choose a name, hairstyle, facial appearance, complexion, outfit, and physique, with Feminine, Masculine, and Standard options available. Nearly all choices are free, and entering Roblox asset IDs for hair, faces, or clothing loads specific items. Save a look as a character code so you can load that preset again.

Height is adjustable, but a shorter model does not grant a confirmed hitbox advantage. Pick a height you are comfortable playing rather than chasing an edge that may not exist.

After finishing, switch from Customization to Province, then choose Enter the Province to teleport into the playable world. Use your first minute to learn the menu: Quests, Skills, Mail, Map, and Roles will be your most-used tools.

Follow story quests before chasing a higher rank

Open Menu > Quests to see three categories: story, daily, and weekly. Make story quests your main thread, because they introduce the game’s systems and point you toward the next useful activity. Daily and weekly objectives run alongside them for extra income.

For a useful session routine, check your current story objective, look through the daily and weekly lists for tasks that fit it, find your destination on the map, and get to work. Track quest progress separately from role changes: Quests shows your tasks, while Roles determines which team you can join.

Check each of the three quest categories again before beginning a work session. If an objective fits your plans, you can skip needless travel around the province.

Earn your first money through farming and jobs

Farming is the gentlest starting income. It needs no upfront investment, happens in safe areas, and runs on a clear cycle you can repeat. The full process covers tilling, planting, watering, and harvesting rather than just grabbing finished crops.

Find the farmer NPC Kawakura Kawa near the rice plots and talk to them to pick up seeds and your first task. A white grid outline appears over valid soil to show where you can plant.

Hold a Rice Seed from your inventory and click a patch of grass to plant it. The seed grows into a crop after a set amount of time, so give it a moment before returning.
Daily & Weekly Quest Routine01:20Daily & Weekly Quest Routine
Once a seed matures into a crop, a harvest prompt appears so you can collect it. Shown at 01:20 in Radex Tips’s video.
Stand over the mature crop and press E (or tap) to grab it. You will see an “ITEM OBTAINED” confirmation and “+ Rice” added to your inventory, which you then turn in for wages.

Paid work goes beyond farming. You can fish, scrub floors, wash and dry laundry, make beds, or perform as an Entertainer. No activity has a confirmed universal payout advantage, so choose work you can find and repeat instead of assuming one job pays the most.

Read World Info to understand laws, taxes, and wages

Open World Info to check the province’s current rules and economy before you commit to a job. The ruling Shogun sets taxes and wages dynamically, so the figures you see are specific to your server and can differ from anyone else’s session.

WagesPay set for jobs and ranks
ApprovalUpvote or downvote the current Shogun

Laws determine which actions you can take safely. Breaking a rule that is active starts a countdown; once it expires, authorities mark you wanted. Lockpicking a door, for example, may be against the rules. Consult the Laws tab before approaching doors, other players, or restricted zones, especially in an unfamiliar place.

Do not reuse a tax or wage figure you saw in another player’s game. Those values belong to the Shogun who set them, so always read the numbers in your own province.

Spend money on skills that match your job

Go to Menu > Skills to see the available upgrades. Skills are grouped into overall, farmer, and team categories, and improving any of them costs money. Before spending Ryō on a skill with a promising name, choose its information option and check its actual effect.

The rule of thumb is relevance. Inspect overall skills for broad usefulness, farmer skills while you are farming, and team skills when you are working a particular role. Other roles such as shrine keeping have their own upgrade paths too, so review those options before switching your focus.

You trade for seeds through the same NPC that gives you tasks. Kawakura Kawa’s shop lists Rice, Turnip, Cabbage, and other seed types you can buy to keep a farming cycle running.

Check Skills again after payday, but having enough money for an upgrade does not mean you need to buy it. Save some cash and focus on improving skills for the work you plan to continue.

Change roles and climb the social ladder

To switch roles during play, open Menu > More > Roles. You can view open positions such as Townsfolk, Servant, and Samurai, but teams can fill up, which may block your preferred role until a place opens. Check this menu as you progress rather than assuming a higher-status role is always available.

The hierarchy runs roughly as follows, with the Shogun at the top controlling the province’s economy.

  • Townsfolk, the everyday residents of the province
  • Servant or Attendant, who maintain the province and serve others
  • Samurai, the warrior class holding a higher position
  • Federal Noble, a senior social rank
  • Shogun, the ruler who sets taxes, wages, and holds court

The throne is not something you simply buy your way into. It changes hands when a Shogun dies or abdicates, either passing to a named successor or triggering an election run by imperial envoys. Players in the province can also vote to approve or disapprove of the current ruler, which shapes the leader’s standing over time.

A full team is not a progression failure. Availability is limited by occupied places, so keep checking the Roles menu instead of abandoning your plan.

Use the map and claim your mail

Open the map and zoom out whenever you are unsure where to go. It labels the farm, village, bakery, shrine, mines, and market, so use the named markers rather than guessing from the scenery. When a quest sends you somewhere unfamiliar, read its wording, open the map, and head straight to the matching location.

Check Mail from the menu regularly and claim anything waiting. Rewards arrive there periodically, so treat it as a recurring habit rather than a one-time check. Keep it separate from the Shop, which holds optional purchases that cost Robux.

There are no confirmed active redeemable codes to enter right now. Save codes exist to transfer or reload a character, but those are not gift codes, so watch official announcements before trusting any code you see shared elsewhere.

Keep the loop simple and it stays reliable: customize, enter the province, work your story quests, read World Info before you act, and reinvest wages into the skills that fit your current job. Once that rhythm is steady, the roles menu and the long road toward Samurai and the Shogunate open up on their own.
