The Best Moonflesh Farms in Warframe for Operation Taubound

Where to grind Moonflesh fastest on Eris, which difficulty pays most, and how the event Alerts stack up.

Where to grind Moonflesh fastest on Eris, which difficulty pays most, and how the event Alerts stack up.

Moonflesh is the fuel that powers Epoch Operation: Taubound, the one-time event that opens a path toward the Tau System. You collect it on Eris and hand it to Praghasa for rewards like a Legendary Core, Tauforged Archon Shards, the Haalvu rifle, and a set of event-only cosmetics. The Operation runs until November 17, so there is time, but the fastest routes still matter if you want everything.

Quick answer: Clear every Moonflesh Alert as it appears (50 Moonflesh on Normal, 75 on Steel Path), and fill the gaps with endless Dark Sector runs like Survival on Zabala or Defense on Akkad, played on Steel Path for 3 Moonflesh per drop.

How Moonflesh drops on Eris

Every Infested enemy on Eris can drop Moonflesh when killed, with one exception: the Maggot summons never drop it. On Normal difficulty each drop is worth 2 Moonflesh. On Steel Path that rises to 3 Moonflesh per drop, which is the single biggest reason to push the harder version of any node.

Drops are marked on screen with a small icon, similar to Argon Crystals, so they are easy to spot. Pickups are also shared: once any squad member grabs a set, every player receives their share regardless of where they are on the map. That makes public squads reliable, since missed drops are rare.

What does not help is your usual loot setup. Moonflesh is an event currency, so it ignores the following:

  • Resource Boosters and Resource Drop Chance Boosters
  • Drop Chance Blessings and Steel Path drop chance bonuses
  • Pilfering abilities such as Nekros’ Desecrate and Pilfering Strangledome
  • Retriever companion mods

Boosters and abilities only ever apply to in-mission pickups anyway, and none of them touch Alert completion rewards. Since drop-chance effects do nothing here, build for pure clear speed instead of loot stacking.

Run Moonflesh Alerts first

The Operation Alerts are the highest-value activity, so treat them as your priority whenever one is live. Completing an Alert grants 50 Moonflesh on Normal and 75 on Steel Path, on top of the drops from the Infested you kill along the way. A single Alert can easily net well over 100 Moonflesh depending on the mission type.

Alerts appear roughly every 45 minutes to an hour on Eris and stay available for up to 90 minutes each. Because the windows overlap, taking a longer break usually means you return to around three Alerts waiting at once. Check the Alerts menu a few times a day and you will rarely miss one. For casual players, this alone is the most efficient way to build up Moonflesh.

Best endless nodes for sustained farming

Between Alerts, endless Infested missions give the steadiest Moonflesh flow because they keep spawning enemies and scale difficulty as you stay. Survival, Defense, and Interception all work well, and the dense Infested spawns mean a constant trickle of drops. These also hand you affinity for leveling weapons and Warframes, which pairs nicely with grinding the new Haalvu rifle to rank.

NodeMission typeWhy run it
ZabalaSurvival (Dark Sector)Dense spawns and extra affinity; favorite for raw speed
AkkadDefense (Dark Sector)Controlled chokepoint, scales well, bonus affinity
NimusSurvivalHigh Infested kill count for steady drops
Kala-AzarDefenseTight combat around the cryopod
XiniInterceptionHigh spawn counts across rotations
OestrusInfested SalvageBeginner-friendly option on Eris

Endless modes beat Exterminate here because Exterminate caps its enemy count and ends, while Survival, Defense, and Interception keep the Infested coming and ramp up difficulty the longer you commit. Run any of these on Steel Path when you can, since the 3-per-drop rate roughly scales your haul up by half.

The fastest loadout and node

For the highest throughput, run Zabala on Steel Path with a squad built around speed. A close-range nuking Warframe clears rooms, a Nova set to maximum speed pulls enemies in and pushes spawns, and a Nekros rounds out the team. Even though Desecrate does not improve Moonflesh drops, the extra bodies and faster kills keep the drop pipeline full.

With that composition, a tight run pulls roughly 9 to 12 Moonflesh per minute. Avoid overloading the squad with multiple loot frames like Khora or Hydroid, since their effects do nothing for this currency and only crowd out damage. Build for killing, not for luck.

Where to spend Moonflesh and how to confirm it

Moonflesh exchanges are available from Praghasa, a newly added node in a special Relay on Eris’s bottom-left side. Fly to the node, head to the interface at the ship’s bow, and speak with Praghasa to access her store. Prices vary: Arcanes take only a handful of Moonflesh, while the Legendary Core or Dhampyre Syandana costs 500.

You will know a farm worked the moment the drop icon appears and your Moonflesh counter ticks up, and an Alert pays its flat bonus on the end-of-mission screen. At Praghasa, a successful purchase removes the Moonflesh from your total and adds the item to your account right away. Keep in mind the Contegorus Armor pieces unlock in stages as the whole community hits milestones, so some rewards may not be buyable until later in the event.

Access is open to anyone who has finished Vor’s Prize. For the duration of the Operation, the usual Star Chart and Junction requirements to reach Eris are lifted, so even newer accounts can jump straight in and start harvesting. Since there will be no reruns, it is worth clearing the shop you want before the window closes on November 17.
