The Midnight Edition of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse wraps the base game together with a small bundle of extras that live inside Rose’s menus rather than as a separate launcher. It adds one defensive relic, a set of guest-hunter costumes, and two in-game galleries covering concept art and music. None of it is cosmetic-only filler: the relic in particular changes how Rose survives a hit.

Quick answer: The Midnight Edition bundles the Family’s Grace relic, the Trevor and Sypha Style costumes, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack. The Alucard Style costume is sold separately as paid DLC, and the Sonia Style costume unlocks with the Konami code.

Family’s Grace relic: what it does

Family’s Grace is a relic, so it occupies one of Rose’s relic slots rather than replacing a weapon or spell. While it is equipped, the next time Rose takes damage the hit is blocked outright and every nearby enemy is frozen in place. The effect then goes on a 60-second cooldown before it can trigger again. A faint spirit aura hovers around Rose while the relic is active, which is the visual cue that the block is ready.

In fiction it is a silver locket that once belonged to a mother lost to the family, holding portraits of Rose’s parents, Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades. That lineage is the reason the Midnight Edition pairs it with the Trevor and Sypha costumes.

You will not find the locket out in Paris. It is pre-stocked in the relic bag and sits on the second page of the Relics inventory under Equipment, so it has to be selected into an open slot before the barrier works. The freeze-plus-block combination makes it a useful panic button in the game’s harder rooms, where a single mistimed hit can otherwise end a run.

The three bonus costumes

Costumes are swapped from the pause menu under System, where Character Skin lists every outfit Rose currently owns. Each one only changes her appearance; stats and abilities stay the same no matter which skin is active.

Trevor Style Costume gives Rose Trevor Belmont’s battered brown-and-white leather hunter outfit. It is included in the Midnight Edition package (Steam DLC id 4708550), which also contains the Sypha costume and the Family’s Grace relic.

Sypha Style Costume is the light blue hooded sorceress robe based on Rose’s mother, Sypha Belnades. It is bundled in that same Midnight Edition pack and does not appear to be obtainable any other way.

Alucard Style Costume is the dark noble coat and pale hair styled after Alucard. It is sold on its own as paid DLC (Steam DLC id 4708530), so it is not part of the core Midnight Edition bundle even though the showcase cycles through it alongside the other two.

Every Rose costume and how it is obtained

The paid and bundled skins sit alongside several that any player can earn through play or input codes. Here is the full set and the condition tied to each one.

The Sonia Style Costume is unlocked by entering Up twice, Down twice, Left, Right, Left, Right, then B and A from any menu. A pop-up confirms the skin has been added. The Cursed’s outfit is linked to reaching the game’s bad ending, sealed in the subsequent scene at the Clock Tower save room. The Doppelganger Style Costume is earned by defeating The Self in Notre-Dame after clearing all four virtues.

Digital artbook and soundtrack

The remaining extras live under the main-menu Extras area, split across Artwork, Music, and Config tabs. The Artwork gallery is a grid of concept pieces you page through, covering characters, stages, monsters, weapons, and items. It leans heavily on early-concept work, with slides such as ROSE, TREVOR, DEATH, DRACULA’S CASTLE, HOLY INNOCENTS’ CEMETERY, NOTRE-DAME, MEDUSA, and JOAN OF ARC, many shown in both final and rough-draft forms.

The Music tab is a full soundtrack player with a scrollable tracklist and sample playback. It mixes standard cuts with longer “Extended” versions of boss and stage themes, running from opening pieces like Bloodbound and Streets Of Fire through to the closing Curse Broken – Extended.

Taken together, the Midnight Edition is less about a story expansion and more about a survival tool and a presentation package. The locket is the piece that matters most in combat, the costumes are a set of franchise nods you can switch between at will, and the galleries sit quietly in the menus for anyone who wants to look behind the art and music.
