Where Winds Meet: How to Unlock All Tranquil Pier Anecdotes

The Sentient Beings Experience entries for the Tranquil Pier region in Where Winds Meet are short conversations with named villagers. Each one is logged as an Anecdote once you speak to the right person, and several of those people only appear or react at a specific hour, so the in-game clock does most of the work here.

Quick answer: Speak to every NPC listed below across Brineflower Bank and Tranquil Pier village, switching the clock to Shen, noon, and night for the three time-locked characters. Each Anecdote awards 5 Echo Jade and 5 Qingzhou Exploration.

Every Tranquil Pier Anecdote and its NPC

Each Anecdote maps to a single villager. The ones marked with a time only register when the clock is set to that period, so set the hour before you approach them.

Brineflower Bank salt flats: three Anecdotes

Open the world map and fast travel to the Brineflower Bank landmark. Before you move, open the time dial and set the clock to Shen, around 17:00–18:00, so the salt workers are present.

Walk down into the salt evaporation pool and talk to Zhou Yanpu standing among the flats. The conversation logs Old Tales of Salt Crystals.

Move onto the raised bank beside the pool and speak with Feng Minxue, who is noting down salt production. This adds Quzhan Salt.

Follow the shoreline east along the flats until you reach Xu Baobin carrying buckets near a handcart. Talking to him records The Burden of Salt, the last entry in this area.

Tranquil Pier village: daytime Anecdotes

Fast travel to the central Tranquil Pier landmark. Walk into the nearby pen and speak with the veiled disciple Yun Caiqin standing by the cows. Finish her dialogue to unlock Declining Unearned Glory.

Head down into the peach orchard and talk to Granny Tao tending the bushes. She gives you Honey Peaches.

Climb the stone steps to find Ning Xiaofan, the young girl singing by a low wall. Interacting with her records Mercy Goddess.

Continue north into the village street and talk to Yu Yuanyuan, who is scolding a dog. This logs The Meatball Anecdote.

At the outdoor food stalls, locate Qian Moli crouching beside the fish baskets and speak to her to receive A Diet of Sea and Stream. Next, talk to Xie Wenqian at the dining table beside her to unlock The Nameless Feast.

Time-locked Anecdotes at noon and night

The final two entries only trigger when the clock is set correctly, so handle them after the daytime villagers while you are still at the food stalls.

Use the time dial to choose noon, the Wu period around 12:00. Then speak with Sun Yanzao at the food stall table; this begins the exchange with Xie Wenqian and earns A Debt of Gratitude.

Change the clock to night, around 20:00–21:00. Enter the open-door house directly across from the tables and talk to Aunt Luo as she prays before the Sea Goddess altar. This completes The Nameless Swordswoman.

Aunt Luo also appears near Yun Caiqin’s pen earlier in the day, but the altar conversation at night is the one that registers the Anecdote.

How to confirm every entry is unlocked

Open the Sentient Beings menu and switch to the Experience tab. Each completed conversation turns its slot under Tranquil Pier from empty to filled, and every finished Anecdote pays out 5 Echo Jade and 5 Qingzhou Exploration. When all the Tranquil Pier slots show as filled, the regional Anecdotes are done and your Qingzhou Exploration progress reflects the full set.
